Looking for Soap, toothpaste, Crayons and paper freebies for charity

Hi all,
Am not a regular poster on freebies but was wondering if any1 could point me in the direction of any freebies listed above, its for operation christmas child gift scheme that the samaritans are running in our local area.
Its to send an xmas gift in a shoe box to a child in a 3rd world country.
So am looking for some freebies to add to a few boxes if possible :D:D
Thanks for looking

Not sure if any of these will really be useful because they're not exactly what you asked for but they are freebies for kids and there might be something there:

it may be worth asking local businesses to donate a few things - perhaps you have an independent stationers, chemists, or kiddie's store nearby? might even be worth asking in the chain shops (smiths, ryman, early learning centre etc)... i'm not sure but i think some do have the ability to help local charitable causes to a certain level. body shop and lush might be worth trying for soap; they are often willing to give samples at least.
    best of luck!
  • hiya i remember doing this whilst at school. do you have any info on how i could send some boxes myself please?

  • Children love colouring in things so why not print a few colouring templates out and send them along with your box of goodies.

You can join the 2009 shoebox appeal thread here. I do boxes for families through link romania because I've got serious concerns about Operation Christmas Child (see here)

ETA there's a good shoebox filler in this thread

I make & collect shoe boxes for Smile International (For children in Eastern Europe, and Africa) and have found the Pound Shop to be great! You can get a glove, hat and scarf set for £1 (Obviously) which are fantastic to include. Also, our local Asda helpfully gave us 14 pairs of socks and pants today for £1, which had come out of packaging. It's always good to ask around in supermarkets and independant shops-most people are very helpful!
