    ...except it doesn't, at least not all of them. All the aggregators based on Account Unity (including Egg and First Direct's) don't have access to your password - it's saved on your computer (or portable drive, if you choose that option) in encrypted form, and probably safer than most other forms of storing it. It certainly never goes through their servers.

    Lovemoney and Moneydashboard both use the Yodlee service which stores your password data on their servers (they provide this service to a number of banks in the USA). Yodlee also offers their own direct service - MoneyCenter. This offers an alerting service for low balances.

    First Anniversary Combo Breaker
    I'd love to use Money Dashboard but unfortunately it doesn't seem to like my Halifax account. Keep getting error code and it won't register it

    Doesn't like my Halifax or RBS accounts...errors 403 and 409.

    I'd love to use this as well :(
  • Worth trying lovemoney's Tracker. It's a better alternative as it doesn't rely on Silverlight. (I use it on my smartphone). Halifax accounts works well.
