Sat/Sun 23rd/24th Feb: What small DFW-style things will you be doing today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :money:

    Good Morning

Off to work in a moment, but have checked my banking, alls well. Although am £77 short of the total I want to clear that credit card come monday. Some creative accounting needed. I know I wont need much in the way of food next week as we did a really good stock up on Monday this week, and have frozen lots of meat and veg. So maybe I could just use a bit of shopping budget to still make that payment? hummm...

OH will be taking our little boy to his swimming lesson this morning (already paid for) and then we'll be doing the library for tonight/tommorow nights DVD fest.

    Have good weekends all.

    :hello:

What a day I had yesterday!

Our car is super-old>Took for MOT>Our lovely, trustworthy mechanic said the car was not worth repairing, it'd cost £1000 to get her through the MOT even if we sourced the parts ourselves cheap as chips and he gave us a discount on fitting>Did costings to see if we could do without a car. Absolutely can't, would cost £26 a day to get to and from work.>Bought a newer car.>Buried head in sand.

    So today:

~Re-calculate finances for whole year and set new date for paying off debt.
    ~Sort out car insurance.
    ~Arrange funeral for old car.

Off to visit the up market charity shops on the next town for a little sensible retail therapy. On the hunt for books for dd and work clothes for me.

Then to a friends for dinner (they are cooking) with wine bought on 3 for £10.

    Have a lovely day x

    Morning all,

Well didn't sleep well last night and so overslept this morning. Still having issues with ex and trying to decided whether its worth the hassle or to just cut ties and move on. Hoping to have a NSD as at my third job today.

    Today will:

    - Look into new pet insurance
    - breakfast from stores, lunch at work, and dinner with grandparents.
    - Swagbucks
    - Load of washing on to dry while I am out
    - Dogs dinner from freezer
    - Keep heating off for as long as possible
    - drive as careful as possible to save petrol
    - take drink and snack with me in car for long journey to third job.
    - try to do a little bit of ironing before I go.
    - Take note book so can think through what I want to do tomorrow and work out March budgets etc.

Hope everyone has a lovely day x
