daft question - "cornish unit construction"

Is that estate agent speak for "possibly has mundic but no tests carried out"?

    Mundic can be in ordinary looking properties.

    Kez, I was just wondering because of the concrete - I didn't realise (obviously not paying enough attention) that CUC properties had a distinctive "look".

    As a retired conveyancing solicitor I believe the information given in the post to be useful assuming any properties concerned are in England/Wales but I accept no liability for it.
  • Cornish unit construction is a concrete pre-fabricated property, not mundic. They were made after the war to help with the home shortage. Unless it has had structual remedial work its going to be hard to get a mortgage on it. The main reason is over time the steel within the concrete gets weaker and needs repair. Most of this structual work was completed by local councils as they owned the property.
