    Awww hugs Stacey, someone at work had the same things and she ended it after about 3 months :o

    Morning people,

    Up stupidly early for a Sunday morning as off to London as hubby is going to see the Swansea / Bradford final and there is engineering works on the railway which will add 30mins on to the journey.

    So today I will/have:
    • Breakfast from stores
    • Bought railfare using national railcard bought yesterday
    • Bought my ticket from workshire to London - saving about £6
    • Will stick to my budget of about £30 for the day - payday on Thursday so would like to put some more into savings account
    • Will buy a cheap lunch
    • Will go to a museum to keep myself entertained
    • Will not walk around London with my wifi on as it eats away at my battery and I don't want to get lost In London - hubby will be at the football for a couple of hours

    Think that's my lot for today

    Take care all

    Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning All

    So, today is the last day before payday for us. I am off to work, a long day today for me. Last night I shopped my house, and realised I wont need any meat for this coming week, have plenty in. I am going to challenge myself to spend less than £30 on food in the coming week. To include bread, milk, veg etc. I suspect I can do less than that but dont want to get carried away.

    Dont think there is anything else I will be doing today, just getting through till bedtime!

    Good luck all.

    Morning early birds :wave: sorry to hear you have to work Bobarella. Hope in terms of workload today you have enough to do that work speeds along at the lovely working efficiently pace (dragging or so much you're stressed is no good!). Candy enjoy your day in the big smoke!

    Me I stupidly woke up at 6.30 :eek: tried to pretend I was still asleep but alas it wasn't kidding anyone.

    Things for the day:

    * apply to change my account for the 123 one (need to add oh to the account too)
    * [STRIKE]more painting[/STRIKE] - yesterday we did a whole day and we really came on heaps and bounds. I keep saying it'll soon be done but all that needs to happen now is, painting the woodwork - which we will be doing today. Tiling & sealing which will be done on Thursday. Installing the new wood burner effect fire and finding blinds :j
    * [STRIKE]all meals from stores[/STRIKE]
    * possibly go to the gym with a free pass - snowing hard so looks very unlikely!
    * maybe have a walk this afternoon and stop in a local for a pint. Depends on how cold it is! ditto!
    * [STRIKE]hang up some washing[/STRIKE] & do another load
    * [STRIKE]list a couple of bits on ebay[/STRIKE]
    * [STRIKE]post a TV on freecycle [/STRIKE]
    * iron clothes for work tomorrow
    * [STRIKE]do some sewing of quilt[/STRIKE] nearly finished :T
    * [STRIKE]have done a meal plan for the week & a shopping list. [/STRIKE]Will see how long I can go before going shopping - although have no veg....
    * [STRIKE]NSD :j[/STRIKE]
    * used yellow stickered bernaise sauce with dinner

    Ok that's my lot. Happy Sunday x

  • Yesterday and today I have been re-jigging my monthly budget spreadsheet.

    I always find it difficult to stop budget "leaks" - small purchases , usually just a couple of pounds here and there on things like postage , tin of dog food , milk , etc.

    So , i order to stop this , I've started keeping track of exactly what I spend cash withdrawls on so at the end of the month I'll consider whether I need to have another budget item such as "Sundry Groceries - £20.00".

    I've also decided on Monthly Piggybanking for Car Maintenance , small Emergency Fund , Medicines & Dentist , Christmas Fund and... a Holiday! :eek:.
    DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
    28th October 2019 -
    £13,505 - 27% paid off.
