How about this?
Beneath this pain I'm feeling
lies a happiness so true,
A heart full of memories
of times I've shared with you.
We've had some laughs
even cried some tears,
You're been more like a sister
sharing all these memories.
You have been the best friend
you knew how to be,
I am blessed with the knowledge
you found a friend in me.
I hope I didn't disappoint
I wouldn't want to let you down,
You know what you mean to me
and I'll always be around.
True friends never go away
on me you can always depend,
As I've been, I'll continue to be
Yours, a friend to the end.
Thinking of you all. x:happyhear We are not put on this earth for ourselves, but are placed here for each other.
If you are there always for others, then in time of need, someone will be there for you.

So sorry to hear your news. Don't know if this would be suitable for your mum's friend but I bought this book set recently from the Book People. I'm going to split the books between various people but give 'a book of happy thoughts' and 'a book for bothersome days' to my friend, her mum is currently very ill and she's finding it tough.
Also how about an audio book or relaxation CD? Nice smellies for the bath? Big bunch of beautiful flowers? If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -
