I thought this would be a great place for us to share recipes! I've seen some lovely sounding meals and always wondered how to make them myself so please share with us!

Please try and keep this clean of chat, we can use the main thread for that.

If you post a recipe a title, ingredients, instructions, syn values for each plan would be a great help! Also include how many it feeds so people can adjust accordingly. In my recipes I've not included the syns if you use HE's, but people can work that out.

One recipe per post please, it means I can update this post with an index linking to each recipe :)

Many thanks to everyone who contributed on the Old Style thread of recipes (especially cheekymole!) and everyone who's posted a recipe!

what a fab Idea, Im always seeing lovely recipes....but then forgetting where they were

Heres my contribution....Its one of my personal favourites & seeing as I re-named it, its only fitting that I put it on the thread :rotfl:

The now re- named famous Dyno Rod soup :D for its......clearing properties lol. Tastes like Heinz veg soup....tis very lovely!!

Speed food Soup (syn free on Green and EE) makes a mahoooosive pan!! - freezes well

    1 can mixed bean salad
1 can green lentils (or handful of dried)
    2 cans chopped tomatoes
    1 can baked beans
    Handful of split lentils
    2 large leeks
    1 large onion
    4 medium carrots
    2 parsnips
1 each green, red and yellow peppers
    2 vegetable stock cubes
    Salt pepper
    Mixed herbs

I made half quantities of this the other day, it was really nice and still did me two meals. I think the recipe originally came from Minimins thread.

    Garlic Chicken Lasagne

Servings | 2 (Very large servings)
    Syns Per Serving | Green – 2 ½*
    * Add 6 Syns if not using the Cheddar cheese as a Healthy Extra and a further 6 Syns if not using the chicken as a Healthy Extra

    Ingredients

    -Fry Light
    -1 medium onion,finely chopped
    -2-4 cloves garlic,crushed
-227gm (8oz) skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes*
    -400gm can chopped tomatoes
    -1tsp dried oregano
    -black pepper
-6 sheets dried no-need-to-pre-cook lasagne sheets
-38gm sachet Morrisons Instant Cheese Sauce mix (5 Syns) I used parsley sauce - all I had
-85gm (3,oz) reduced fat Cheddar cheese, grated*

    Method
    1. Pre-heat oven to 190C / 375F / Gas Mark 5.

    2. Heat a large pan sprayed with Fry Light and cook the onion and garlic for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until soft.

    3. Add the chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, for a further 5 minutes. Add the tomatoes, oregano and seasoning. Heat through.

    4. Spoon half the chicken mixture into a shallow ovenproof dish and top with 3 sheets of lasagne. Repeat the layers.

    5. Make up the cheese sauce mix with boiling water as per the packet instructions. Add half of the grated cheese to the cheese sauce. Pour the cheese sauce over the top of the lasagne & sprinkle with the remaining cheese.

    6. Transfer the lasagne dish to the oven and bake for 30-40 minutes until the topping is golden brown, bubbling and cooked through.

    7. Serve immediately with Syn-free potato wedges and a green salad.
  • Hi there - can you tell me what I can use a tub of quark in? Can you use it instead of cottage cheese in a slimming world quiche? Thanks.

    Baked upside-down cheesecake

Total 19.5 syns (or 9 syns if using ginger snaps) if divided by 4 servings 5 syns or 2.5 syns each.

200g fruit (rhubarb, blackcurrants, gooseberries etc) personally I don't syn cooked fruit, although I know that isn't the orthodox SW way!
    good sprinkle of sweetener
    1/2 tsp cornflour (1 syn)

    200g quark
15g sweetener (I like it quite "tart", might need more for your taste)

    1/2 tspn cornflour (1 syn)
Finely grated zest of 1 orange or lemon
    1 medium egg
some skimmed milk to loosen the mixture
5 digestives (3.5 syns each so 17.5 syns, if I had used 5 ginger snaps at 2.5 syns each would have been 7 syns) finely crumbled

In a pan with a lid, cook the fruit with sprinkle of sweetener and 25ml water until barely soft. Take a spoonful of the juice, cool and mix with the cornflour, then gently stir back in and heat until the compote has slightly thickened. Spoon into a deep serving dish.

Beat the quark with the 15g sweetener, cornflour and lemon or orange zest until smooth. Beat in the egg, then a small amount of milk to loosen the mixture slightly. Carefully spoon this over the fruit, and sprinkle a layer of biscuit crumbs over the top. Bake at 160C (140C fan-assisted)/320F/gas 2½ for 30 - 40 minutes, until barely set in the middle. Leave to cool for 10 minutes before serving, or leave until warm.

FRUIT ROULADE - 0.5 SYN FOR THE WHOLE CAKE :j

    absolutely gorgeous!!!

    1 TUB QUARK
    4 EGGS
    1 TSP BAKING POWDER
    4 TBSP SWEETNER
    VANILLA ESSENCE
FRESH FRUIT OF YOUR CHOICE FINELY CHOPPED ( SOFTER FRUITS & BERRIES WORK VERY WELL & BANANA)

    SEPERATE THE EGGS

ADD THE YOLK, HALF THE QUARK,
BAKING POWDER, SWEETNER AND ESSENCE INTO A BOWL, WHISK TOGETHER AND SET ASIDE.

WHISK EGG WHITE TILL STIFF. WHISK HALF INTO THE MIXTURE THEN FOLD IN OTHER HALF.

USING A SWISS ROLL TIN SPRAY WITH FRY LIGHT ( I PUT GREASPROOF PAPER IN FIRST THE SPRAY SO DOESNT STICK) POUR THE MIXTURE IN AND BAKE AT
    180 FOR 15 - 20 MINUTES. LEAVE TO COOL

IN A DISH ADD REMAINING QUARK ,SWEETNER, AND ESSENCE AND MIX TOGETHER.

REMOVE THE CAKE FROM TIN WHEN COOL SPREAD THE QUARK EVENLY, ADD FINELY CHOPPED FRUIT (STRAWBERRY AND BANANA MY FAVE). ROLL THE CAKE FROM ONE END. SLICE TO SERVE.

THE WHOLE CAKE IS ONLY HALF A SYN AND THATS THE BAKING POWDER.

WHEN THE CAKE COMES OUT OF THE OVEN IT WILL HAVE RISEN LOADS BUT WILL GO VERY FLAT WHEN COOL LOL I THOUGHT IT HAD GONE WRONG FIRST TIME I MADE IT BUT WAS LOVELY.

    * FOR A REAL TREAT YOU CAN MIX A WHITE CHOC OPTIONS SACHET WITH A TUB OF FF GREEK YOG TO SERVE IT WITH....IT TASTES JUST LIKE CREAM - AND ONLY 2.5 SYNS FOR THE WHOLE LOT ;)

    ENJOY :A
