When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning  happy Thursday :D for those of you working, I hope its a peaceful & speedy day!

I'm off to a spa with one of my friends today :T (voucher bought in Nov off of lastminute sale) and am having either a massage or a facial - they couldn't do 2 massages so need to thrash it out with my friend!- paid for with money oh owes me for xmas :T

other than that
  • checked banking x2
  • make butternut squash soup for us before we go
  • go through fridge/cupboard ensure what needs using up is used!
  • brekkie, lunch & dinner from stores - dinner is enchilladas using LO beef from boxing day & reduced torillas mmmmm
  • check tyre pressure if I'm driving
  • other than massage & a drink spend no other money (I have £28 in my purse and am determined that this should last me into the new year!)
  • return library book & renew others
  • call CB re payment not going in this month...
  • collect post from old house

ok I think thats all I have to do. Happy Thursday guys :D

  • Morning all!
Hope you have a lovely spa day Determined! Enjoy yourself!

I have weighed this morning and its:eek:.
Xmas is definitely over! The "new me" weight campaign starts today - no excuses! I've joined the lose 7lbs in January challenge and I'm determined to do it.

I did a freezer and cupboard stocktake last night and know what I have (loads!) - I need to work out what to do with it all now, healthy eating all the way!

    So things to do today...
    • Work out a meal plan for the next week
    • Plan an exercise regime starting today
    • Write a mini shopping list for the weekend -only want to spend less than a tenner on fresh stuff only
    • Do some school work
    • Plan a budget for the next 2 weeks until I get paid
    • Have a quick tidy round the house
    • Walk the dog - although its like a monsoon outside at the moment
Right better get up and make myself vaguely presentable.

dnms - have a fantastic spa day. I'm sure you will.
I've got a hangover this morning. I don't drink very often, so when I do it really doesn't take me much to get very drunk and feel rubbish for the next day. I deserve it though - I was a bit wobbly on my mse determination yesterday afternoon and evening.

    So far today I've:

done a load of washing and hung it on the airer
topped up the oil on the car
hoovered (I'm so sick of hoovering now)
    checked bank account
    planned meals from stores
    done some baking with dd

    I also intend to

    clean the bathroom
    sleep
and I really need to go to the bank but my nearest is 6 miles away so don't think I can be bothered.

It definately some meal plans and a stock take me thinks. Looking for inspiration for NYE - going to friends for a shared meal. Must consult Delia and see if I can match it up to anything we already have :)
