Upgrading Barclaycard Gold

Hi all, and happy new year.
I just wanted to ask if anyone knew the minimum limit required to upgrade to a Barclaycard Platinum.
My current Gold card has a APR of 14.9% purchases and 21.0% cash advances. I have held it for 9 months, and have a limit for £2450. I used my barclaycard for everything, (even McDonals) and normally pay off 50% to 100% of the balance every month.
I've asked Barclaycard customer services, and they just say I dont qualify.
Any help would be much apperiated.

According to http://www.barclaycard.co.uk/Products/Apply/summary_box/platinum.html the Platinum card is 17.9% for purchases and 21.9% for cash advances.
As you don't always clear your balance monthly, your (purchase) borrowings will be 20% more expensive - surely?
When you say "I just wanted to ask if anyone knew the minimum limit required to upgrade to a Barclaycard Platinum", what do you mean? Do you mean the credit limit that they will give you? If so, then it's 'subject to status'.0 -
I dont mean the credit they will give me.
Exisiting customers whom wish to upgrade their accounts need to have a certain credit limit before they are upgraded
For example, when upgrading to a Gold card, a £1500 credit limit is required on the account.
Also my APR wont change, as it didn't changed when i was upgraded before. :rotfl:
I wanted to know what limit an existing customer needed to upgrade to the Platinum card.0 -
I have just been upgraded to Platinum after having a 7,500 credit limit. Though im not sure what benefit it is to upgrade from Gold to Platinum?0

From what i understand you can upgrade in the following order.
Classic
Gold
Platinum
Simplicity
As you can see in order to upgrade to a simplicity card (6.9%) I first need a platinum card. Also i have a default, so i can not apply anywhere else.0 -
Hi

This was the reply I got when I asked to upgrade from plat to simplicity.....
Simplicity is a new product that we are currently trialling and is only
available to new customers.
However, this does not mean that you, as an existing Barclaycard
customer, have to lose out:
We offer very competitive Balance Transfer rates for existing customers
(currently 6.9% for the
life of the balance). From time to time you might also receive
promotional balance transfer offers
from us through the post, which are worth looking out for.
Anyone managed to get simplicity as an upgrade?0
