.....why do my Barclays Current account and Barclaycard Platinum (both held for 10 years) not show up on my Experian credit file?

I recently checked my credit reports (from both Experian & Equifax) and my Barclays current account & Barclaycard were not listed on either.

I'm inclined to think that Jen245 is correct as both my accounts are pre-2000.

An old bank account/credit card that is not reported because it originates from before the agreement about reporting is like gold dust. I've got an old NatWest current account with a £5k overdraft that is not reported and keep it just in case I need it in dire times. I pay a direct debit out of it every month to keep it active as they shut down my other account through inactivity

Isn't it something to do with accounts opened before a certain date, don't show up on your credit report? I believe its accounts opened pre 2000. I had a Barclays bank account opened in 1999, which isnt on my report, but my barclaycard opened in 2000 does show, on both my experian and equifax reports. Both accounts were closed mid 2005.

Yes, that's exactly what it is.

Good question - my Santander card does not appear on my Experian profile either. Had been wondering!

Was it recently opened or a legacy Abbey card started before 2000?

That might explain why my Mastercard doesn't appear.............but I've had a GM Visa card since ~1988 ish ..that does appear on Experian

Thanks for the input everyone. Massively useful.

I will get an Equifax report ASAP.

One point of consideration though - the bank account does pre-date the 2000 cut-off, but the card doesn't (from 2001, I think).

Any thoughts on why this still does not appear?
