Hi
When I was recently looking for a flat I had a similar situation several times over. They will ask for money to be sent via western union or somewhere similar. NEVER pass money or sign anything until you have seen the property.

Sounds like a born again Christian. I'm sure she wouldn't want to rent her place out to a "cohabiting couple" like us!0

Christ, this sounds like a babelfish translation gone horribly wrong. I would NOT deal with this person, and I recommend you stay away aswell.
You could string her/him along for a while though, just for fun, and make sure to keep us informed, this makes good reading.0 -
Sounds like a nigerian scam, the wording is very similar.
Yep, that's what I think too. It's certainly written by someone for whom English is not their first langauge (nothing wrong with that of course, but then some of the phrasing and pushiness of the request screams Nigerian scam!).
They are trying to come across as religious and therefore hopefully trustworthy in the eyes of their victim, but at the same same asking for info which is unusual and pushing for the OP to stand by his/her word. Something is not right here, I would be interested in any results that anyone can get from the email headers?*
* edit, just seen the post above, confirming the SCAM! Good old MSEers!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello all. Well, looks like I was right to be wary then. I have so far refused to pass on any information to her, apart from our budget at the location we were looking for. She responded to a wanted accomodation ad I put on gumtree - should I alert them about this?
Scope, I'm very tempted to string them along for a while. I'm a journalist and it would make quite a good story!

See my previous post - the IP address 196.1.179.153 routes back to Nigeria.
The author is probably a 6ft hairy-*rsed gorilla sitting in an internet cafe in Lagos."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
