Also, if I tell them I've lost my job, the first question they'll ask is "When?"

I lost my job back in January, hence the fraudulent aspect.

    Nightmare.

I'm tempted to just go into the branch, and admit that I've done wrong -

ie - Tell them I'm an alcoholic, that I lied when I took out the loan, that I'm sorry, and that I'm now doing what I can to put things right.

Really don't think this will help matters though.

Do you think they'll prosecute me for fraud for this?

I think they would rather have a payment plan set up than worry about the hassle of fraud, as long as they are getting there money back you should be ok !

    Hi RuthnJasper,

Many Thanks for your kind words too.

I've been struggling with a b*gger of a depression, and that hasn't helped to see things clearly on the financial front.

    Sim.

Hey Sim, I hope you are receiving help for the depression through therapy not just meds, and also help for the alcohol abuse as they can often predispose each other.(as i am sure you know).
