Reglaze an old crock-pot?

Hi

Does anyone know if its possible to reglaze an old slow cooker crock-pot? Mine is about 20 years old and is getting difficult to clean. I think the glaze has worn thin. I know I can get a new one for less than a tenner, but if its possible to keep this one going I think that would be more eco-friendly.

Cheers

Lesley

    1. No re-glazing is not possible. For one thing the pot will have absorbed mositure over the years and will spit out during re-firing, which require very high temperatures and the finished pot will feel like sandpaper.

    2. Even if it could be done it would cost a lot more then a tenner

Well! Actually, you can throw it away while it is still working. If you break it up you can use the broken pieces as drainage in your flower pots.( if you have any, that is.) It all depends how much the worn glaze is bothering you.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

Just think about the convenience of a new slow cooker - you'll save washing up as if you get one like mine you can do all the browning off of the meat in the actual pot and then just transfer it to the cooker base :D Makes life so much easier (when I'M cooking - oh still manages to use every single dish in the kitchen when he does).
