Not as good as menstrual cups like Mooncup, but it's totally awesome that Boots are stocking safer options like softcups, menstrual cups and organic tampons/pads.

FYI these are the disposable softcups (they also come in a version reusable for one cycle) but with care these can be cleaned and reused so a freebie and a saving on your normal disposable sanitary products too :)

From the website: "Softcup cannot be used as a contraceptive nor to prevent sexually transmitted infections."

Softcups are not to be used as a form of contraception
They just can be worn to have mess-free sex on your period, or can be used after sex to keep semen close to the cervix when TTC.

Softcups are not that big, they're actually smaller in diameter than a diaphragm and you insert the same way so are squished to insert (fyi diaphragms can be used for the same purpose). Mooncup are completely different, and much better, as they are far narrower but longer - when folded Mooncup's are little different in size to a tampon.

I do also have a mooncup and would recommend - especially as if you really can't get on with it, mooncup do offer a moneyback guarantee.

But I rather fancy having a little supply of softcups for sexytime possibilities.
