Reserve Thomas Cook flight seats for free!

Just come back from a holiday I book using a Thomas Cook airlines flight. They offer a seat reservation service which is £10 each to keep the group sitting together and another £10 to select your specific seats.

However, when I looked at their website to see what seats where available and do a costing I didnt complete all the way through to checkout. A few days later I got an email saying that the seats could only be reserved till a specific date unless the additional payment was received. This specific date was after my flight date so on turning up at the airport the 4 of us had specific seat reserved together - all for no additional cost!!!!!

So if you are travelling with them, go online as near to the flight date as possible and enter your details but simply dont complete the checkout ...

hi, ive just looked at that option,do you proceed to the "commit to booking screen" ?
if so is this not legally binding?
im only asking because ours is a longhaul flight(usa) and their prices are extortionate,
    thanks...

    Hi

As my booking as past i cannot go back into the system to check what the pages are, however i remember a page to select the seats, another page to select any other extras and then I think there was a continue or go to booking button. I went to that and then decided it was too pricey which is why i then closed the webpage.

The email arrive a few days later that simply said I had provisionally reserved seats but hadnt paid and gave me 10 days to either pay for them or the seat reservations would be put back into the pool. Therefore they didnt hold me to it.

Just make sure you do it close to your flight date

Hope this helps. Have a great trip

p.s. take your own headphones for your party to avoid paying the £2.75 costs of their headsets so you can listen to the movies.

& get a Thomas Cook credit card - avoid surcharge by paying with it.

Also 1.5% points back towards your next break!
