Leasehold reform and buying freehold now
I'm having some issues with my freeholder as we've uncovered some changes to the floorplan of our flat made by the previous owner may not have been given permission when we came to sell the flat (its a long story but basically the lease plan in the lease we received when buying wasn't clear so we didn't know the plan had…

Accepting lower offer from buyer
Hi all, I’m selling my mum’s house with Lasting Power of attorney to pay for her care home fees. We had three valuations but went with the most conservative (lower) one as we were hoping for a quick sale so priced accordingly and liked the independent agent. Also aware the decor is a bit dated and could do with new carpets…

Hi all, looking for advice on how best to deal with this situation. My deeds state that our fence is a shared responsibility with neighbour. Does a seller find out a lender’s valuation?
I’ve seen a few posts about people getting into difficulty when a leader values a property below what the agreed purchase price is. Obviously this isn’t a problem if the lender values the property for more than the asking price. My question is does a seller ever find out the lender’s valuation? Or would they only know this…

LANDLORD DEDUCTIONMS AT CHECK OUT
I rent out a house. I installed a new loo seat £35 2yrs ago at start of tenancy. On check out, theres a small chip from the loo seat. Can I seek to deduct £35 from the deposit? Going by TDS, it isnt "betterment" as was new at start of tenancy. And isn't wear & tear. But it doesn't deem it unuseable.

Myself and my ex girlfriend are going to be selling our house in the near future and I will have a decent chunk of money after it (if it sells at the valuation, which I think it should, I'll make about £30,000-35,000)*. Following the split, I have been…
