Loan or Credit Card
I was wondering which option is the best - a loan of £15000 over 5 years at 3.8% or keep moving balances from 0 % cards and paying the transfer fees each time - repayments would be around £275 on a loan and I am trying to pay £300 a month on the card. This is only half of the card debt! I am aiming to have all debt except…

Moving to self-managed DMP - advise?
Morning all, I am currently in the process of sending CCA requests to all my creditors with a view to (hopefully) getting some good F&F offers. With this in mind I realise that I will need to move my DMP away from SC and self-manage. I am finding this a daunting  thought as I am nervous about the implications and I…

Feel like I've been stupid... Anything I can do?
Through a combination of divorce and other things, I managed to get into around £22,000 debt. About half of which was accrued interest. As well as the divorce I was made redundant and could have declared myself bankrupt. I didn't want to as I felt it was my debt and I should pay it back. I got a job and set up a DMP and…

Benefits cut, need to reduce DMP payments
Hi all. I have been taken off ESA and put on JSA meaning I loose £35 a week. I'm not appealing, spoken to GP, she said: I'm in a tough situation as due to my CFS/ME being cured, technically I am fit enough to work, but the problem I'm going to have is that while I am fit enough on paper to get a job, with my health…

Received mail addressed to my partner and his estranged wife at my address saying they were being taken to court(in Scotland) for failing to pay council tax arrears. Should I go debt free?
Hi, I'm being made redundant and I've luckily managed to get another job straight away. I have some credit card debt which I've already done a 0% balance transfer on around a year ago. My instinct is to use some of my redundancy pay out to pay off the debt completely and enjoy not having it hanging over my head any longer…

Hello everyone, years of reckless spending on finance and credit cards has caught up with me I'm 25 and prior to 2017 I have either lived in a house share where I haven't had to pay many bills or living with my mum rent free. TV Licensing and akinika debt recovery?

Capquest statute barred debt ?
I had a call from capquest saying they bought a debt from Halifax in 2013 which defaulted in 2010. Two things...I don't thing this is for me and further more if it defaulted in 2010 it's surely over 6 years old and won't appear on any credit score?

What small DFW things will you do this week? w/c 12/06
When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when…
