Compound Interest
If a fixed term ISA provider, in this case Oak North, who's current interest rate is 5.07%, pays interest monthly, does this interest compound, meaning in month 1, for every £1000 you invest you now £1050, in month 2 you now have £1153, in month 3....................you see where I'm going with this?

Anyone transferred a cash isa to Zopa?
A few weeks back someone posted that their transfer to Zopa had failed. Apparently this was due to a fault in Zopa's system whereby it couldn't accept an amount that differed to that declared during the opening process but on closing the transferring account, interest gets added thus resulting in a discrepancy between the…

Hi all...after some advice and information from knowledgeable members. I have £20,000 in my current account and looking to save some of it sensibly. I have seen all the 'use it or lose it' headlines about utilising my 2023/24 isa allowance and opened a 1 year fixed rate cash isa with my bank within the last week. I have…

Cash ISA question
Sorry if this has been asked before but I have used my cash ISA allowance for 23/24 and want to open another for 24/25. Can I open it this year but not fund it until 6 April or do I have to wait until 6 April to open it?

I've opened, but not paid into, 2 cash ISA's in this tax year.
Hi all, Last week I opened an easy access Cash ISA with Virgin. I then thought as interest rates may drop this year it would best to open a fixed rate Cash ISA l, so I opened one with OakNorth as well. I've not paid into either yet and have no intention of funding the Virgin one now, however before I pay the full 20k into…

New ISA rules - treating an easy access cash ISA like a regular saver, before transferring to a fix?
Hi all, Newby here trying to get my head around the new ISA rules from April. I have some money in a 1yr fixed cash ISA maturing in November '24. Am I ok to open an easy access cash ISA in April and 'drip feed' spare cash into it monthly until November, then transfer everything from both the ISAs into a new 1 yr fix cash…

Virgin 1 Year Fixed Rate Cash ISA Exclusive issue 11
I have just opened the Virgin Cash ISA issue 11 with a fixed rate for 1 year of 5.25% and maturity date of 31/3/25, which at the moment is top of the 1 year fixed cash ISA tables. You need a Virgin current account. T&C`s state that no minimum is required to open and maintain this account and that you have up to 30 days…

Isa fixed rate period questions
Hypothetical question (if you had the money) - If you opened a 1 year fixed rate isa in say July for the maximum amount what are your options when the new tax year starts in April the following year? Obviously you don't want to touch the money whilst it's in it's fixed rate period. Is the best thing to wait until it…

Lifetime ISA bonus?
My daughter wants to transfer part of her H2B ISA to a Lifetime ISA. If she does that now, a few days before the end of the tax year, and the transfer takes a couple of weeks or more to go through (i.e won't appear in the account until into the new tax year), will she still be eligible for the bonus on this year's amount?

Transferring S&S ISA from Vanguard when it gets above ~£30k
Hi All, I hope you are well. My S&S ISA is getting to a point where a flat fee would be better than Vanguard's percentage fee. I have just over £30k invested there from previous years. I also have £16k of this year's allowance to put somewhere before 6 April, having already put £4k in a LISA. I've been checking Monevator's…

Help to Buy ISA and Cash ISA
I have a Help to Buy Cash ISA with Nationwide that I have been paying into. It's quite likely that I will soon be using and closing this Help to Buy ISA in the next few months as I intend to buy a house soon. Does anyone else use Trading 212 for their S&S ISA?
Hi Each year I invest my ISA allowance in passive index funds on the Vanguard platform. At the end of each tax year I then transfer these over to my iWeb account to store them. (there is zero platform fees on iWeb!) For a bit of fun I thought Id try a different trading platform. Perhaps Trading212. - Are there trading fees…

Skipton Fixed Rate ISA

Transfer not done in time
Hi does anybody know? I have completed the paperwork to move £4K into a LISA approx 3 weeks ago. LISA provider is saying they will do their best by 5/4/2024. If they fail is my issue with the funds ‘receiver’ or ‘sender’. Is there anything I can do regarding the deadline possibly passing?

Upgrading Santander Fixed Rate Cash ISA
Received a letter that I could upgrade my cash ISA 28 days before maturity on the 1st Apr. If I do this will the interest of the previous year still be paid on maturity since I will have upgraded to a new product by then. Ironically, the new Fixed Rate Cash ISA has the same interest 4.15% as the previous years Fixed Rate…

Moneybox Cash ISA rate increase!
Just got a email from Moneybox stating the underlaying rate of my Easy Access Cash ISA is increasing from 4.15 to 4.25% (AER) variable. I had been looking to transfer the balance, but I found the options were limited! Zopa don't include Moneybox in their list of transfer options, but you don't know this until you open the…
