Help with Creation / Equivo pending CCJ
Hi Everyone, I am dealing with Creation regarding a personal loan that I cannot pay the contractual monthly payment on. I stupidly buried my head in the sand until the letter from the courts arrived and have lodged a defence regarding how much more the debt now is vs when I took the loan out. They have now responded saying…

Civil Debts, Limitations Act and Congestion Charge
I know that the Limitations Act sets a 6 year limit on action on some debt but does it apply to the Congestion Charge? I am asking on behalf of a friend of mine who does not have great language skills, he says he was not the driver, but he was told to ignore it as it was not enforceable in his (EU) country, he was homeless…

Live in employment and debt consolidation
Hi I am trying to consolidate around £5,000 of debt between a credit card and loan onto an interest free product but seem to be failing on eligibility. I earn £22,000 a year but have very few overheads due to living in ie no rent/rates etc. Could this be affecting my credit rating and how do I get round this? Thanks

Velocity Banking
* I've watched a few videos on velocity banking on YouTube and I definitely think this is something worth trying. The aim is to use your credit card for all expenditure that can be put on a cc, e.g. things like shopping, petrol, electricity and so on (but not your mortgage, rent or to pay off another credit card). You…

A bit overwhelmed with debt and need some pointers.
I have around 13k in CC debt and 7k in a loan (plus my student loan but that's not here or there at the moment) and I would like to get debt-free or at least get a handle on the amount I'm paying each month. I have an average income and am currently managing, but I can't see the credit cards ever being paid off and the…

Creditors Haven't sold on Debts -
I've been in a DMP for 2 years now thanks to everyones help here, I now sleep at night and am slowly plodding away at the repayments - almost at the point of being able to make my first F&F to one of the Defaulted accounts. Out of 7 defaulted creditors only 4 have sold theirs on (MBNA x 2 and Virgin x 2, I've had CCA…

How to take the first step?
I will try my best to be brief. I have no idea where to begin on lowering my debt. To give context I haven't been the best at not spending above my means which now has caught up to me. In 2021 I had to get a new car after my old one got it's catalytic converter stolen and as my job requires one took the quickest option…

Velocity banking?
Hi I've fallen down a rabbit hole on YouTube and watched a couple of videos where people (US) pay their income onto credit card and then pay bills (utilities not mortgage) out of it. The aim being that throughout the month the credit card balance goes right down and this would help both credit score possibly but also…

Starting out
So - I’ve been floating along for a while now, and have started to get into a debt spiral. Thankfully I have a reasonably big shovel with which to attack it, and I’m hoping I’ll be able to wipe out the £16.5k that I owe in the next 10 months. I’ve finally confessed to my partner, and she’s been absolutely brilliant with me…

Default or satisfied, what's worse on your file?
As the title suggests....We are due to sell our house, and there might be a bit to clear a few debts.I have a few defaults that are 4 or 5 years old, with Debt Collection Companies. When the house sale completes, would making a F&F offer on the debts negatively impact my credit score, more than the default has? The money…
