Completing on Friday before Bank Holiday Monday?
Guess I’m looking for reassurance! I think I am over-worrying about things all going wrong at the very end. situation: 4 parties in the chain, we are number 2. Our buyers are cash buyers with the money in the bank. I’ve always preferred to complete on a day that isn’t Friday, just in case anything goes wrong and then…

Renegotiating price after survey pros and cons
Could somebody shed a little light for me? Buying a 3 bed semi circa 1936 survey has come back today to say the whole property needs repointing, in some Places has significantly failed and already causing damp in a few places in the home and the chimney brickwork is a mess. Estimated cost for repair £4.5-5k. Surveyor has…

Prospective buyer only gave partial information on a survey
Buyer had their survey done before putting in an offer. Survey pulled up lots of silly little things on some of the newer work, with only one slightly valid point, typical stuff for surveys I guess. However no comments on areas where I was definitely expecting a lot more feedback compared to the newer bits. There is still…

LANDLORD DEDUCTIONMS AT CHECK OUT
I rent out a house. I installed a new loo seat £35 2yrs ago at start of tenancy. On check out, theres a small chip from the loo seat. Can I seek to deduct £35 from the deposit? Going by TDS, it isnt "betterment" as was new at start of tenancy. And isn't wear & tear. But it doesn't deem it unuseable.

Does a seller find out a lender’s valuation?
I’ve seen a few posts about people getting into difficulty when a leader values a property below what the agreed purchase price is. Obviously this isn’t a problem if the lender values the property for more than the asking price. My question is does a seller ever find out the lender’s valuation? Or would they only know this…

Neighbour selling house, hasn't paid for shared fence costs
Hi all, looking for advice on how best to deal with this situation. My deeds state that our fence is a shared responsibility with neighbour. spray foam loft insulation
Hello all, I've had an offer accepted on a property but the survey has discovered that the whole loft has been insulated with spray foam. I'm a cash buyer so no lender involved, but I've been told that if i was getting a mortgage on the property, it would probably be refused or at least the valuation would be greatly…

Accepting lower offer from buyer
Hi all, I’m selling my mum’s house with Lasting Power of attorney to pay for her care home fees. We had three valuations but went with the most conservative (lower) one as we were hoping for a quick sale so priced accordingly and liked the independent agent. Also aware the decor is a bit dated and could do with new carpets…

New here and hoping for some collective MSE wisdom - I currently rent a property for myself and my 20 year old daughter, in London.
