Eon not able to install smart meter due to insufficent cable lengths in current install
Hiya, As part of signing up to 'Eon Next Pledge Tracker' I agreed
to have a Smart Meter installed, the install arrived this morning only to tell
me that it was impossible to do with my current consumer box wiring due to the
fact the cables are too short for them to install one and not sufficient space
in the current…

New boiler or other option (house for sale)
The house (2 bed end terrace) we are preparing to sell this summer needs its combi boiler replacing, it’s 13 years old and the repair it needs would cost £800+ maybe more, so it was recommended that we replace it. The rough quote the plumber gave so far is £1800 for a cheapest combi boiler installed with 5 year warranty.…

Why aren’t energy prices falling faster?
A quick search of gas wholesale prices and it’s clear to see the prices are falling back in line with 2020 prices. So why are we still paying so much on our energy bills?! Can anyone explain?

IHD electricity usage 1/1000th of what is should be
My IHD from British Gas is showing my daily electricity usage as 1/1000th of what is actually is as in it says I used typically 0.015kWh of electricity per day when it should be 15kWh. Unfortunately I am billed for the 15kWh. I have tried another IHD from Glowmarkt and it has the same issue and on discussing the issue with…

Economy 7 and Smartmeter
We had a Smartmeter2 installed in 2021 with Economy 7. It has never connected and just works as a legacy meter so I send in monthly readouts. I noticed straight away that our 30Amp AGA cooker which charges overnight was not in sync with the off peak rate. About 49 minutes out. No explanation was identified so we just put…

Eon Next Loyalty 12 month v 4
I received an email invite to sign up to a new tariff on 9th April. I was on Next Fix 12 month v11 ending in August. My DD was reducing to £163 as I was paying more than using. The new 12 month fix quoted £138.23 which seemed good and I signed up. Had also compared the 24 month deal. A few days later, noticed Dd still not…

The Energy Ombudsman's Compensation System

When we moved in to our house in December 2006, we were told by the previous owner (an electrician) that there had originally been under floor heating which had a separate meter to the general electric meter. When the under floor heating was removed, the meter was disconnected. When we moved in we made enquiries about…
