I just received a new old stock Breilting Chronomat watch which I bought from the website of a jewellers in Knightsbridge, London. It cost £3975 and I paid for it in full by credit card. There is a noticable dent in the case: I have contacted some local companies that I've used before for quotes to repair. I contacted the…

CPP Card Protection
I was a Card Protection customer for over 30 years and found it such a reassuring service that if my handbag got snatched or I was robbed on holiday that I only had to make one call and all my cards and documents were dealt with. So I was really sad when CPP wrote and said that the product would be coming to a close at the…

Just making I don't get charged interest on next statement. I know Barclaycard allows refunds and takes that off as payment. I am not…

Blacklisted by Lloyds Banking Group plc?
I had my vehicle financed by Black Horse way back in April 2018. Fast forward to February this year, I made an inquiry to Black Horse finance in relation to car finance mis-selling after watching Martin Lewis show. An acknowledgement letter was received with a promise to look into the issue. Then on 11th of March, I did…

JAJA balance transfer to another credit card
I wondered if anyone else was struggling to find a credit card that would accept a balance transfer from a JAJA credit card? I was previously with post office which has since switched over to JAJA. I was informed a couple of weeks ago my 0% rate was expiring and after trying to do a balance transfer to both a sainsburys…

Switch Guarantee affecting my Credit Score
Hello, I recently used the Swith Guarantee offered by a bank to transfer my direct debits (dd) and balance from my old account to my new account. However, as I switch banks so infrequently, I didn't realise that this would reduce my credit score by 50 points. Is there an easy way of retaining my credit history with the old…

Section 75 and compensation
Hi, i'm in the middle of a section 75 claim via my credit card company. They require 2 quotes for the works to put the situation right and associated costs. Apprently they do not cover compensation for stress and anxiety and effort and inconvenience etc. We had flooring installed in a three storey house when building works…

Capital One couldn't verify my details
I applied to Capital One after getting pre-approved on MSE, however, they, for whatever reason, can't verify my details. I gave them my passport and driving license, and a hard search has appeared on my credit report so I'm not sure what the issue was. I've contacted them to see if they can reveal what details they…

Has anyone heard of a bank writing off a credit card debt? This is to do with my other half. He has had a credit card debt of around £7k for a number of years. The card has now been cancelled and he's had a letter saying the balance is £0 and they are closing down the account. He also has a personal current account and…

Nationwide increasing credit card interest rate by 50%
Ouch, I have just received a letter from Nationwide saying that they are increasing my credit card interest rate by a whopping 50%. I have a members-only card that I have had for a good number of years, and until now it was charging a fair and not unreasonable interest rate of 9.9%, which was perfectly reasonable for the…

I, unfortunately, had to make a cash withdrawal from my Zopa card. Ever since then, between 1p and 2p has been disappearing from my account everyday. I have waited 5 days to give them a chance to rectify this. I will contact them today, but I am concerned that, if they don't know about this glitch, it could be happening to…

Claim back cost of work carried out by a garage
I recently had some work done on my car to replace a stater motor. Subsequently, it has transpired that it didn’t need a new start motor at all and the garage essentially changed it without doing proper diagnostics etc to figure out the problem. They’ve also refused to take the car back to do the work that actually needs…

Credit card application refused
My niece, who is Mexican, now lives and works in London. She has applied for a UK credit card from HSBC, but has been refused, despite now earning a decent salary. The refusal no doubt stems from the fact that the bills for her (jointly held) credit cards in Mexico don't get paid off in full every month, as the other party…
