Lock jamming
My front door 5 bolt lock has worked for years. Recently it jams shut when I go out. The key just won't turn. If I jiggle it in/out back/forth long enough it eventually suddenly opens. If I just test it briefly ie lock/unlock it, it works fine. Could it be expanding in the cold and jamming shut?

My dad has had a plumber around today as he had a blocked toilet which apparently is due to his macerator packing up. Plumber is quoting £500 ish to replace and fit - anyone know if this is reasonable. I want to relocated my front door. Do I need planning permission?
I want to relocate my front door, in order to relocate and enlarge the downstairs wc space. At the moment, it's too dark and cramp. When we moved to our new house I realised the outside walls were more solid so I picked up a cheap corded hammer drill from Homebase.
