Cashplus Bank - genuine email?
Hi everyone, I had an item for sale on Facebook Marketplace (DJ decks) which yesterday a lady asked if she could buy as long as I posted it to an address in the UK as it was a surprise gift for her cousin. She was offering the full asking price plus extra for postage. The lady asked me for confirmation of the price, bank…

RBS digital banking is currently down for me. According to Downdetector, RBS and NatWest both went down at 7:00 am but NatWest came back at about 10:00 am. RBS still appears to be down. This was acknowledged on NatWest X but not on RBS X.

Nationwide FlexPlus Travel Insurance Change to Aviva
Do you know what the definition of a dependent child is under the new travel insurance from Aviva which commences 1 May 2024? It states under 23 and no need to be in full time education, so does that mean any of your unmarried children, under 23 that live at your home? I don't think of my son as dependent as he has has a…

Best UK Euro Account
Hi, I'd like some advice on holding euros in a UK bank account. I'd like to open a UK (I live in the UK) account where I can hold euros. I'd like to have an account where I can get euros paid in and not get big fees to transfer out. For example if I want to wait the convert to GBP when a better rate is available. I'm with…

Council Tax Maths
Council Tax bills are coming out this week. The councils are playing a game. They claim it's only going up 5% if you just read the headline figure and put it away you are likely being fobbed off. I have no idea how they get to this number because £2158.44 to £2,335.06 is 8.18%, not 5%. Check yours…

Chase standing order
Just wondered if anyone has had any issues with standing orders and Chase bank. In November 2023 I set up a standing order for £200, on my Chase account, to be paid into a regular savings account I had created for one of my grand children. This was a monthly payment until cancelled. In February 2024 I noticed that the £200…

card readers
How compatible are card readers from different banks? My RBS card reader is complaining about a low battery. I tried changing batteries but either the new ones are faulty or I did something wrong as it didn't work after I had changed. I've just got (as part of their switching offer) a card reader from NatWest which I think…

Hi all I have recently been dealing with BoS/Halifax, regarding an issue I’ve had with an account. I had raised a complaint over the phone about 4 weeks ago but had not received any update so called…

From iOS 17.1, now available in Beta, you can optionally see the balance of some debit and credit cards in ApplePay. Works initially with cards from Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, RBS, Monzo and Starling.
