Lloyds ISA lost in transfer
I tried to transfer a fixed sum from my Lloyds cash ISA to a stocks & shares ISA (BestInvest). Ten days later I tried to transfer the residue to another cash ISA - First Direct. Two weeks or so after this I had a statement from Lloyds showing my account was closed with a single transaction on 12 May. I immediately…

Barclays Golden ISA transfer question
Last tax year I had a Barclays Tax Haven ISA which I filled up to the maximum £3600. Recently I've just opened a Barclays Golden ISA which I'm planning to add £300 per month into. My question is...although I am aware that the Golden ISA does not accept transfers in, am I breaking any ISA rules by just switching my current…

Withholding Tax in ISA
Hi All, I have some foreign stocks in my Stock & shares ISA. Two have recently paid a dividend (Syngenta ord CHF 0.10 and Greencore) and withholding tax has been deducted at a rate of 35% and 20%. Where can I find out about Withholding Tax and why is the %age different? Is there any benefit in holding them in a ISA? Thanks…

My daughter has received a cheque for £3795.36.
She doesn't have a bank account but would like to invest it in an ISA. As the Cash ISA limit is £3600, would she be able to pay the £3795.36 in and then get a refund of the £195.36? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.

ING Cash ISA question
Hi all, My wife has a 2008/09 cash ISA with ING. In April she got a letter saying that she can no longer deposit money into the ISA. The letter suggests opening a 2009/10 cash ISA. If she opened the 2009/10 ISA does that mean she would have 2 separate accounts. One with the balance as of April 09. One empty one ready to…

Hi, I'm looking to transfer the balance of my Alliance & Leicester ISA (deposited there following the Icesave debacle) but the account only pays interest annually and therefore no interest has been paid on the balance as of yet and won't be for months. My question is if I transferred the balance now would I just lose any…

Interesting Interest question
I have just opened the nat west e-isa. I also have my current account with them. Does anyone know if the interest gained on the isa balance STAYS within the balance ie can also gain interest at the isa rate? I'm sure I had read something about keeping my current account linked so money can be moved into it if I…

My "Senior Moment" has stopped my cash ISA transfer
I made a mistake earlier this month (May 2009) in transferring a small amount of money from my Alliance&Leicester current account into my Alliance&Leicester Direct ISA Issue 4 that currently pays just 1.55% (down from 6% in April 2008) instead of my Alliance&Leicester Online Saver Issue 4. I want to transfer my substantial…

ISA help needed
Okay, let me start by saying I really don't understand ISAs, and the more I read, the more confused I get, so when you reply, you are going to have to assume I'm an idiot and explain things in easy terms for me to understand what you mean... I presently have an old cash ISA, set up with Safeway supermarket - it's now owned…

First Direct cash e-ISA: any good?
It's about time I ditched my existing provider and went elsewhere. The First Direct cash e-ISA seems appealing, a reasonably good fixed rate, plus I can still withdraw = best of both worlds. Does anybody else have this account, and are they any good? They mention in the spiel that withdrawals out to other accounts "may…
