disruption to water supplies - compensation
My local water board is doing maintenance work on the pipes and there is likely to be disruption to water supplies during this. I have an idea from somewhere that they have to pay £10 per day for compensation if the supply gets disrupted - but have googled around and cant find anything. Does anyone know the answer?

U Switch and water meter
I went to U Switch a while ago and filled in the information to switch to a water meter. Nothing happened, no response from U Switch or Anglian Water. In the end I applied through Anglian Water's website, and things are moving. They are coming to do a survey next week. Here's hoping for cheap water bills soon.

I just had to post this. Someone told me about this a few weeks ago but i didnt want to post it until i had validated the info first. Water sure scheme There is a little known scheme (and certainly not advertised!) which allows larger families to cap their water bills at the national average. I know for a fact that Severn…

Haven't had a bill for 12 years...
Our house was built 12 years ago, and despite contacting the water board then, we never received a bill. 12 years has passed, and someone knocked on our door today to say that they don't have a record of us being here, despite people from the water company having previously visited us to check the quality of the water,…

Not that im obviously complaining at this at all, but i never thought in a million years any kind of monthly payment for bills would decrease per mth, but it has. Im with severn trent water and used to pay £33.13 per mth, always in credit, but not by that much to be honest, maybe like £11. Got my breakdown for the next…

Water Meter water drainage question?
Hi I moved into a house and changed to a water meter, and discovered that the water wastage from the shower, bath washing machine and sinks are retuned to a tank in the garden for recycling to use in garden for watering lawn, washing car etc etc. The only water retuned to the sewer is toilet water as far as I can see. The…

Reclaim for overestimated bills?
I had a meter put in 5 months ago and have found that I am using far less than Yorkshire Water were estimating my use at. I am only using 2 units a month at ten pounds (including fixed charges) rather than £30 that they estimated it at. So for eight years previously I have been overcharged by £20 a month which at current…

Wastewater charges
 I know nothing in this world is free, but on top of the charge for removing my waste water (which I fully understand). Why do I get charged £8.02 for 6 months for surface water drainage? And a further £2.55 for 6 months for highway drainage? Is there a way of disputing and winning. Its not my fault if it rains, its…

Bargain from Anglian Water
No, really! THere was already a water meter installed when I moved in, and they had decided that I should pay £17 a month for my water. Been living on my own for the last 8 months or so, and I just got my bill from August - Jan showing a £49 credit. Rang them up to ask about their SoLow tariff for people who use less than…

Water leak on your supply pipe
The pipe supplying water to my property has broken and I therefore have a soaking driveway. According to the Severn Trent website any leak on my property is my responsibility to repair, and at my expense. However, I called them to enquire about how I go about getting it repaired only to find their website is not correct.…

Is depreciation a thing of the past?
Water utilities are arguing that the more than inflation increase in water charges is to cover the cost of investment. They are planning to invest in our future and want us to pay for the priveledge now. I thought the notion of capitalism was for an investor to invest and be rewarded by the dividends they recieve and the…
