Adding wireless to wired only device
Have a bit of hifi kit that supports certain internet features but only has an ethernet port and whilst the router is in the same large open plan room it's no way practical to run a cable to it. In our old place used to use power line adaptors but because of the odd setup that isn't practical any more. So what is the best…

Testing out musical AI engines
Wrote some lyrics for a mate of mine who's a composer a while back. We put the full score onto various musical collaboration websites but no joy, no-one was interested. Hence thought I'd try producing the track. However as no operatic trained mezzo-sopranos owed me any favours I've used an AI engine. I have no idea how…

Network ports
Hi all I've got some homeplugs in order to get a wired connection to another room (I've turned into an office/workroom). The "receiving" homeplug only has two ports, they are both in use and I could do with an extra port (possibly more). Can I plug in a network switch to the homeplug and then all devices into that? If it's…

how do I pin to the top page of my phone?
2 things that I use frequently on my android phone are the calculator and the clock (timer and alarm). I can get to these reasonably easy by going into settings, all apps and then opening one or the other but it would be so much easier if I could pin them to the front page along with the other apps I have there - outlook,…

Burning CD/DVD options for an Android user
Research suggests there's no ability to burn disks on an Android device. My old Windows laptop is at the end of its life and I've come to prefer the simplicity of Android when using a tablet. Is there a way around this without going back to Windows? I've no experience using Apple devices and they're out of my price range.

Microsoft's Phone Link (Win10) no good after changing MS password & adding 2FA
Top & bottom if it is the thread title. Phone Link was working fine. It now doesn't 'see' my phone. It asks me to open a QR code & then scan it using the camera on my phone but when I do this it says Invalid QR code. How do I link up my phone with Windows 10? It was a pretty handy feature which I used fairly frequently…
