My mum think she can fight it, but i'm doing all the donkey work for her as she is not good…

Income Tax claim by Tax Tree without my permission
I received a letter from HMRC in June saying I was due a rebate on income tax paid in the last 2 years. The cheque didn't arrive so I looked again and saw they had sent the cheque to Tax Tree. I have never used this company and I certainly haven't authorised them to claim on my income tax. I did receive emails from someone…

How to check who is acting as a tax agent in your HMRC account?
Does anyone know how to check to see if one of the lowlife PPI Tax companies have fraudulently signed up to be your tax agent? I had the smallest PPI claim that is still within the window and I won't be chasing the refund but I'm getting fed up with the phone calls, and after reading about how some people seem to have been…

Mis-sold life insurance
I would like advice on whether to take a complaint to the Financial Ombudsman or a solicitor. Brooksdale offering to help claim PPI extra refund
Hi, I've recently received an email from this firm - I've checked them out https://brooksdale.co.uk/ and they seem legit, but thought the deadline had passed in 2019 for claiming this. I'll probably prefer to follow this myself if I can rather than use a firm as their fee seems hefty. You can contact HMRC direct rather…

Reclaim Tax on PPI claims where payouts went to Official Receiver?
I had 6 x small-ish (good enough for me) PPI payouts at end of last year so I believe I can now reclaim the tax back. However, 2 x of the PPI payouts went straight to Official Receiver due their age (historic bankruptcy). Do I add these figures also on R40? It really doesn't make much difference to the amounts as not huge…
