How much to live on
How much do you expect you will require to live on each month when you are retired? ie no mortgage, no commute to work BUT maybe higher heating, hobby costs. I'm getting to the stage where I'm realising that I don't need to be super rich to retire and will only really require living costs but I don't know how much I should…

The Senior Wonder Years!
I have decided to open my own thread in this section of the
forum. I am doing so to give myself an outlet to describe and reflect on my ’retirement’
as well as documenting how finances are hopefully supporting my ‘Wonder Years!’ I will still contribute to the ‘How Much To Live On’ thread
which has been part of my life for…

Wills
My mother made a Will with a solicitor in 2010/2011. She has a receipt from the solicitor. She is now 95 years old and in hospital following a recent fall. She has age-consistent mild cognitive impairment but not vascular dementia or Alzheimer's. Before her fall, she wrote to her solicitor to see a copy of her Will. The…

Deprivation of assets vs just spending as you go along
If I sell all my assets, turning it into liquid cash, and then spend it and gift to my friends and family to spend. And I mean SPEND, not invest into tangible assets. Like use it to live, see the World, savour Michelin star restaurants, experience VIP Taylor Swift concerts, enjoy relaxing massages and Spa holidays, play on…

Wealth
As one enters the twilight of one's life, I often ponder. What do we mean by wealth. How do you know you have died "rich" Is it the money in the bank? Number of homes you own? Number of descendants you have created? Number of people who are there to care and look after you in your old age? Number of people you have at your…

Bringing spouse from abroad
I am going to marry a USA citizen and bring them back to the UK. What will they be entitled to? Will they have any problems getting NHS treatment? Will I be entitled to the tax marriage allowance? 60+ oystercard application problems
I am less than 2 weeks from my 60th birthday and have set up a photocard account. However, it does not give me an option of applying for a 60+ card, only for a student or apprentice card. I called TFL but they didn't answer and I wasn't even allowed to join a queue to talk to someone. Has anyone else had this problem?
