Fund Choices
Hi all, Just wanted to get some thoughts on my provisional ISA fund choices. Looking for 20/25 year term, drip feeding anywhere between £50 to £150 per month into it. I know I obviously need to alter and switch to suit changing markets and my goals, but initially this is what i've come up with. I've split as follows:…

ISA or Saver?
:money: Hi everyone, After having read the savings page on moneysavingexpert, one of the banks that Martin recommended was Citibank's flexible saver account. Now, I'm a student and earn less than £5433 or whatever it is each year. I've got just over £5000 in savings in a cash ISA at 2.75% AER (interest is paid monthly).…

Still Worried About Bank Bankruptcies! Who's Safe?
When you save money in a bank it is an investment. Simple as that. Traditionally a well managed bank would give a good return, a bad one might go bankrupt and lose your money. Now the government guarantees savings more than ever which encourages the banks to be more risk orientated since a lot of the money is insured. Also…

HBOS Savings
Hi, i currently save £300 per month to the stocks and shares ISA with HBOS. I was told to keep investing for a period of between 5 to 10 years. Is this good advice?
I posted a few eeks ago about my DH retiring with a lump sum from his employer and a pension. The consensus here at that time was that we really should go to see and IFA as this was a significant change in our life. Well we went to two IFA's and both gave advise re paying off cards etc, setting aside some money to pay with…

Lloyds TSB 3 year footsie bond
What is the opinion on a three year bond that guarantees full money back at the end, but with annual rewards based on the footsie index, capped at 7%? So if the market goes up that is what you get as "interest", but if it goes down you lose nothing? All held in the Isle of Man.

Capital Protected Bonds
We have been recommended by a financial advisor to invest in a Capital Protected Bond. These are investments that work as follows: should the market drop we are guaranteed our lump sum back at the end of the term with no loss. But if the market is high then we get back our capital plus whatever the market has made, however…

What should I do with my savings?
Hello. My Grandad left me some money in his will so I have just over £1000 to do something with. At the moment, it is in a Lloyds instant access saving account and I know the interest rate is very poor. What else could I do with it? What are the pros and cons of getting an ISA? Hopefully, I would not need the money but I…
