Complaining to Ombudsman help
Can someone clarify about complaining to the Financial Ombudsman, please? If I make an official complaint, do the financial institution have to sort it within 30 days or merely acknowledge that there is a problem within 30 days? I initiated an ISA transfer from A&L to NR on November 5th 2008. My A&L ISA was closed shortly…

Covered warrants?
I was thinking about investing in covered warrants, and have a couple of questions about them. I've been reading up a lot about them and experimenting with some calculators. There is a selection of calculators at https://www.warrants.com for anyone interested. I'm aware they are high risk, but I believe not as risky as CFD…

I am being thick! Question on tax on savings interest.
I met someone this morning that said interest on savings was taxed before you were given the net amount so there was no need to declare it to the HMRC or your accountant when doing your tax return. Foggy brain today and feeling confused on this as I assumed you needed to report it even if the tax had been paid as it may…

ING Direct
I hadn't realised until I got a letter today (and phoned to clarify) that ING Direct rates remain for a year at same bonus amount that the account was opened at on top of whatever the prevailing interest rate is (now 1.5%). I had assumed the advertised 3.0% AER was it, but in fact mine is at 3.72% AER (3.66% gross). This…
