A gardening company in the town where I live seems to have several contracts in the town where I work, about 15 miles away. Apart from the convoy of clapped-out vans with insecurely loaded trailers they have several tractors making the same journey. These are not "Fast-Trac" type tractors or even proper farm tractors but the kind of tractors you might find on a golf course. The drivers rarely pull in to let traffic past.
I can accept farm traffic but I'm sure that commuting with tractors on a daily basis on an A road can't be legal. It definitely isn't safe, sooner or later somebody is going to get hurt and it might be me.
Does anybody know if they really are breaking the law? I haven't managed to find out if they are paying road tax at the agricultural rate but I'd be interested to know what the criteria for this are too.
