Anyone know of a website that lists the petrol prices at different petrol stations round Britain/England/London? With that info, it should also be able to list the cheapest petrol station in a certain area, allowing people to save money by filling up at that petrol station (hoping the drive to it and back used less then what your saving).
In Brisbane, Australia we had a site called fuelwatch http://www.fuelwatch.com.au/ which did exactly that.

There was a site called Petrolbusters, but the AA bought it and then closed it down - er d'oh!
I have heard rumours that they are thinking of re-launching it, though, so watch this space!

You can try THIS ONE (http://www.overdrive.co.uk/fuel_table.htm) not sure how up to date it is

This comes up a lot. Because no organisation is willing/able to run a site where they update the info, the only real chance is collaborative sites where the public can enter prices they spot. the problem is getting people to do this.
I recently suggested that people try supporting one of the collaborative sites (findcheappetrol.com) but the thread got merged with another thread for petroldirect.

We need to get MSE members to support one of the sites - whether it's that one or a different one - so that the info will be up to date. We have enough people to make a big difference to whichever site is chosen. I'm hoping Martin will suggest/recommend somewhere as that may make people join in. Otherwise, the usual tendency is for people to try one of the sites, find it's not up to date for their area, and then just complain about it.
BTW re Petrolbusters, it would be good if they re-launched it as MarkyMark says. However, I always found the prices on it to be out of date or misleading (they included such things as 5p off per litre promotions in their prices without actually pointing this out - so if you didn't spend the necessary amount in the shop you may not get the price). Unlike the collaborative sites, it didn't seem as if ordinary users could report up to date prices on petrolbusters.

Cheers Martin. Glad something's in the pipeline. I look forward to an announcement when it's up and running.

Martin, if you can actually get this off the ground, hundreds, if not thousands, will thank you :)
Just got my first car recently, and am feeling the pinch whenever I fill up the car!
