This is the nearest thing to sex that your 'puter is ever going to receive.

It is a beautiful FREE program that enables you to tweak the bits in your system that you aren't normally aware of. Over 1800 settings can be changed.

Speed up your system - get rid of the intro screen - change the look of explorer - add new commands to the right click - improve the performance of many programs and on and on and on.

I have used this program for years now and cannot imagine life without it.

Also visit www.lockergnome.com (Where I got it from originally). great for 'puter geeks and newbies alike.

There are many progs that do SOME of these things but not as well and not as many.

Fill yer boots.

It remains as shareware for the duration of your use.

It never expires and all they ask IS THAT IF YOU LIKE IT THEN YOU DONATE.

So its like TweakUI but a Ton more settings? :beer:

Just to mention the Softpedia site download is slower
than a hamster with I'll fitting boots

sounds real great , thanks i will give it a go althogh the last one i got like this really messed up my windows file and i had to reinstall it :( it was called style XP pro i think so just stay careful if anyone uses that

If you look on the lockergnome site I think you will agree that they are aware that some progs screw systems up and that is what gave me the confidence to try it in the first place.

I have never had reason to blame this prog for any probs but be aware that some alterations can cause severe upset for your opsys but they make this VERY clear before making changes to that part of the system.

Use the wizards - it's easier but you can always re-set any changes that you make

JUst studied the latest version and there is a lot more about making your computer secure from other users as well as the internet.

And a lot more functions.

Rizla01 - is this a prog anyone can use, or do you need to be an IT geek?? Is it the kind of thing us normal users would get benefit from, or is it best reserved for those who can edit the registry?

No It definitely is good for the 'Normal 'user. but it's also comprehensive enough for the geeks.

There are many simple things that we all can benifit from that it'll do.

Try it, You will not be sorry.

Strangely enough I don't have a lot of benefit from Opera.

Tried it but still find Mozilla to be better.

personal taste really, I guess.

These programs are great for having a fiddle with Windows but a word of warning - making any changes to your Boot screen can cause Windows to... ...not Boot, heh heh. Not in all cases of course.

If you have installed it correctly , you should be able to go to start/settings/control panel and at the bottom (provided your control menu is alphabetic) there should be a prog called 'X-SETUP PRO'.

Click on that and then click on the classic setup button and then look at the help file.

That'll tell you what you need to know.

apart from allowing you to get rid of the normal windows boot screen and replace this with a picture of your choosing it'll also enable you to tighten some of the security settings in your system and abot 1000 other alterations.

Tip - Change only 5-6 things at any one time or you will forget all of the changes that you made, how you made them and therefore how to change the settings back.Don't worry because at any time you can aways reset everything back to how it is now, at the click of a button.
