Blocked ears - congestion?

My head feels like I've got my head in a bucket of water and its not very comfortable!!

I had this last year when I got a cold and it when on for weeks and the doc gave me antibiotic ear drops, even tho there wasn't any pain...

I've had it on and off now for at least three weeks. I think it could be hayfever, eyes itch but don't water (used to) - nose isn't running at all and is clear, but ears blocked (not wax or water). Its a nuisance to say the least.

I'm hoping to fly on hols three weeks today, nurse at the doctors recommended I wear ear plugs for the descent or I will be in agony!

This condition whatever the cause, has led to interesting conversations on the phone at work... pardon? I've tried all the usual decongestants, sniff olbas oil in bed. Thats as exciting as my nights get .. :o

Am hoping this is not a trend for all my future colds and allergies...:o

Anyone else get this blasted problem? Eh? Pardon? What??
