It shouldn't cost anything, just call O2 and explain what you want to do and they should sort it out for you.

as callumpster said it shouldn't cost anything they dont charge for taking your no. to another network so i would think they are hardly to charge you for keeping it in the same network to transfer to another network takes 5 working days so it might even be less for you let us know how you get on so other mse users know for future ref

Yes, I got two on Monday from this post, but I also ordered 6 through the email they sent me with what I think they called a Christmas offer.

they happen very often. Its probably about every couple of weeks they run the free sims, sometimes sooner. You are nearly always able to buy them for 99p in their online store though.

just a query on how these work i was on the understanding if you used up all your text before your anniversary date and you topped up again (before date) you would still receive text! it happened to me i used up my text so i topped up but still no free text so when i emailed them they said "your anniversary date is the 2nd dec as you topped up on the 2/11 and your allowance is activated on your anniversary date and not on when you top up! (cos i topped up again 25th nov)

yes thats right. i got my sim card working on the 6th october. i had to top up twice before the 6th Nov. my free texts started again on 7th november. ;D i've saved no end of money with these free texts and they're still selling on my ebay between 99P and £5 a time!
