Just thought I'd share a discovery for anyone who suffers with hairspray residue after washing their hair - like I used to. If you add a tablespoon of bicarbonate of soda to your regular shampoo it gets rid of it! Make sure you rinse well of course!;)

I suffer from that, and when I go to my hairdressers they keep mentioning it as if hair is filty cause "I dont wash it properly. once I had a junior wash my hair three time and I asked what was wrong and she said there's white stuff stuck to my hair she could not get off, the stylist had to explain to her what it was, in front of everyone I was so embrassed that I havent used hairspray since.

I've got such fine, limp hair that I can't live without hairspray and do tend to go a bit overboard using it - so I was pleased when the bicarb thing worked!

I'd completely forgotten what a state my hair used to get in when I used to use TONs of spray on my mohican, long long time ago, my mum told me to use bath cubes, it's what she used on her beehive in the 60's. It's prob bicarb in the bath cubes that made it work. Now what was that hairspray called it was a purple can and made it solid. Feel so old now.

Same here, I used to use hairspray, egg white, soap and sugar solution, depending on how much dosh I had at the time. I suppose bath bombs are the new bath cubes!
