View Full Version : piercing - after care
Does anyone know how long you are supposed to continue cleaning a piercing with antiseptic for after you have had it done? I had my ears done today as my old piercing which I had done about 30 years ago had closed over, and although I was told to clean it 3 times a day and given stuff to clean it with, I forgot to ask how long I needed to do this for.

yep six weeks def, thats why kids are advised to have them done over the long holidays so they have time to heal and can then be taken out. x

when you run out of cleaning stuff, use salt water (table spoon of salt disolved in a pint of boiling water) keep covered in the fridge and use untill the wound has healed

yes all of the good body peircers recomend sea salt crystals disolved in water. For ears clean using sea salt soaks twice a day for 6 weeks and they will heal well without infection.
