Completly Lost Voice !!!

hi i woke up fri morn with a sore throat...the kids have had a cough ect so just thought it was that...any way sat morn i get up and i cant talk atall.:confused::confused:
..if i try to scream its a whisper.:eek:

...im 3 months pregnant so theres not a lot i can take....and its the same today....im not after medical advice just wondered if anyone has had this and how long it lasts for....ive had a croaky voice before but never completly lost it...and if any one knows of anything i can take to ease it ( not medicine as im pregnant ) i also got a tickly cough today.......

The main things you need to do are to drink plenty and rest your voice- so that means no whispering, avoid clearing your throat etc. I've suffered with recurrent laryngitis and there really is not alot else you can do. As for how long it'll go on- how long is a piece of string?
