Yes the MSE forum told me the first post had not gone through.
And as you can see from the edit -I have tried to delete the duplicate but have not been able to do so.
And I searched and only found 1000 free text with ORANGE not virgin mobile.

Hi, I emailed virgin on friday saying that i hadnt heard anything from them since I text 'Yes' to 80310 and I recieved an email back last night at midnite to say they have manually credited my phone with 250 texts a month for 4 months. theteam@virginmobile.com is the email i used.

I'm cautiously sharing your optimism, having grumbled about the free Orange texts that eventually turned up! ;)

It might be worth noting that Virgin have a long running promotion for 1000 free texts when you buy a phone for £50+ that expires on 18th May. The freebie may be to get rid of the left over vouchers from that promotion and the sending of them may coincide with the end of the promotion.

Think I'll hang fire for now!

i e-mailed virgin on monday to say not heard anything about free text promotion. they replied yesterday askingme to phone them for security reasons-at a cost of 10p to me- explained not heard lady said she try to sort it.just got a text from 789 saying my voucher for 1000 free texts will arrive shortly.will keep you posted

no i didnt get the email, tukki tukki, well i got the email in one address and replied from the phone thats registered to, then this reply is from my other virgin sim (registered to a diff name/email) so looks like you dont need to have had that original email from Virgin in the first place.

Not fair. I applied for my voucher several days before my OH. He got his voucher on Friday. I haven't received mine yet. Although, OH said that the address was incorrect....so perhaps Virgin have got mine wrong on the envelope too. They've sent stuff to me before using the correct address. Gonna give it another couple of days before I get in touch with them.

Just in case anyone else was wondering if it is UK only (assuming it wasn't glaringly obvious on the letter and I just missed it) Virgin confirmed that "The texts are available to use to send to any UK network at any time whilst in the UK"
