I know that there must be loads of acne sufferers out there - I think everyone has had a spell of coming out in dreaded spots . But how annoying is that most things like Clearasil and Clean and Clear don't work? My fella suffered with acne for the last 5 years, until I remembered Quinoderm - a preparation I used to use during school years. You have to get it over the counter at a pharmacist and you can get cream and face wash, but this is the best thing - the price!! A tube costs at Lloyds Chemists just £2.21 and the facewash £3.65. My advice is to stop wasting money on the easily accessible brands on the supermarket shelf and get the stuff that really works. I had to post this, cos I reckon we have spent a small fortune on acne treatments - all to no avail.
I hope this helps acne sufferers! :T

I also used Quinoderm in the late 80s when I had acne. For years afterwards I suffered dermatitis/eczcema type painful rashes on my face where I had previously applied the Quinoderm. Even now in my 30s I have very sensitive skin in those areas. I am a trained beauty therapist and when I worked in the industry I had a couple of clients who had used Quinoderm in the past and had also suffered with sensitised skin conditions afterwards.
If anyone is thinking of trying this stuff, be very careful, read the advice leaflet and use sparingly. Only on actual spots and not on inflamed, open sores or the surrounding skin.

Quinoderm contains the active ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide which is also found in products such as Panoxyl 2.5%, 5% and 10% and Oxy 10. As the above poster pointed out you should be very careful when using Benzoyl Peroxide based proucts as it can cause dry skin, stinging and redness and skin irritation.
I've used Panoxyl and it made my skin very dry, red and flaky.

Benzoyl peroxide can cause skin irritation and redness, as mentioned below. This can be reduced by starting with the lowest strength product, and by building up the time the product is left on the skin. It is important to treat all of the affected area, not just the spots that are present. Benzoyl peroxide can be quite effective, although it can take a while to see the effect.
Also be aware that benzoyl peroxide can bleach clothes, bedding and towels.
