Hi there
I'm looking to buy a 7 seater MPV as we have outgrown the current car. I am wondering what models you would recommend as there seem to be more of these on the market than I thought! I don't mind paying more for the right car as long as its value for money. I am hoping to get a short list of models (with a bit of help from you guys!) then test drive and buy a pre-reg which should work out cheaper.
Thanks in advance

Honest John (http://www.honestjohn.co.uk) for all things car. Buying, selling, specs, test drives.
I don't know whether this is of interest - am looking at mpvs myself and came accross this deal

if for the new Zafiria with a £5492 discount
hope it is of help - I have been speaking to them about the mivera offer and it all seems genuine

My dad was dead set on a Chrysler Voyager, but I persuaded him to chat to my neighbour about it, who is a car dealer (no, not the Arthur Daley kind - he sources to order).
He ended up buying a new Renault Grand Scenic (via my neighbour, for £1,500 less than dealer price), and is very happy with it.
I borrowed it for a week a couple of weeks ago, and I couldn't fault it.
Of course, it's not comparable to the Voyager really. It depends how much space you need. The main thing that put my dad off the Voyager was that the seating config wasn't very flexible.

I agree, really you need to look at your needs i.e 7 seats as ther are a number of options V.W Touran, Zafira and Scenic are more 5 Seats with the option of 2 more in lieu of the Boot Space where as a Grand Espace you could move in to!! also some of the 4x4 have 7 seats!! Shogun LWB!!

Thanks to all of you. I have some food for thought now and am progressing well with my short-list. I will also look into contract hire and will keep checking Honest Jim too. Looks like I have plenty of options! You guys are sooo helpful, THANKS.

My husband has just part exchanged his Renault Espace for a Citroen C8. The Renault is a lovely car, very roomy but we have some terrible dealerships round here and were fed up with poor customer service considering we were paying nearly £1000 per year for its annual service.
The C8 is on a special deal at the moment, plus we got oodles more discount by shopping around the Citroen dealers, our local one wouldn't negotiate at all whereas others will discount by thousands.
Watch some of the cheaper 7 seaters though, my friend has the KIA and she has dents in the door where she closes the door with her bottom when she has the baby in her arms. You only have to lean on her car to bend it.

Thanks for that Soo. I think with my poor body image I can do without making dents with my bottom! I embarrased myself the other day when a lift door wouldn't close cos my bum was in the way! Not good for my self esteem...
