Car Loan or Leasing?

Hi,

I'm looking to buy a new car in the next 6 months but I'm not sure whether it's best to lease or buy. I'm looking to spend roughly £30-40K on a car. What do you guys all reckon?

How long are you looking to keep it? If you buy a car and run it for quite a while it's probably better to get a loan and buy it but if you change cars every 2 or 3 years it will probably be best to lease it.

Does a PCP (Personal contract plan) count as a lease? beacuse it's basically not YOUR car.. it's the property of the car company, and you CANNOT sell it. Just not sure what "lease" exactly means here..
