Hi, i have an M reg escort. I have recently noticed that the rear left hazard light does not work but the indicator does. Has anyone had this happen? x

No, but it sounds like the hazard light relay or a connection to/from it.

Might be the hazard warning light switch. Won't be the relay because it's the indicator relay so if the indicators are working, it's the switch.

so the hazard switch has 6 positives coming from it? doubt it.
it should be wiring from relay to bulb.maybe a corroded terminal,if in doubt re wire it.
check all connections at rear light clusters, clean all terminals and bulbs.

Don’t waste your time looking anywhere other than the hazard switch

shelly get back to us and let us know what was the problem,i really doubt the switch is broken, the switch is obviously activating all the other bulbs, just 1 at the rear that isnt working,i think you will find the fault is nearer the rear light cluster rather than the switch,i could be wrong though.

If a bulb has been replaced recently check it is the correct type, i.e. not double filament unless it needs to be.

At a basic level, the flasher unit makes the pulses, these pulses then get routed to left side front & rear or right side front & rear by the indicator stalk.
When hazards are needed the hazard switch route the pulses to all four corners at the same time.
The fact that the indicators work as normal pretty much rules out cluster, bulb & wire issues. Odds on it’s the hazard switch

you would think that, but ive had corroded terminals before saying otherwise.
