I'd like to get some new glasses this year, and I figure it's probably time I replaced my prescription sunnies as well as they're at least 6 years old! Does anyone know when the high street opticians start to include prescription sunglasses in their BOGOF offers? I think Boots and Specsavers both did a promotion like this last summer, but if anyone knows when they're due to start that would be super! Also, which of the main optician chains would you recommend/avoid like the plague? I can get a voucher for the eyetest and towards the cost of my specs from my work, but obviously the less I have to pay myself, the better!

Specsavers have always been alright for me. The BOGOF is on frames over £79 (or maybe £89) and include basic lenses without coatings. You might have to pay for the sunglass coating at the moment, but in summer the offer normally includes that. I've used them and had no problems at all with them.

I work for specsavers, we are just doing the standard 241 at the min, tint&UV on the second pair will cost £24. We normally start doing the sunnies free in the second pair around easter, but easter is early this year, and I know the offers aren't changing till the end of March at the earliest.
So possibly April :)
