Hi - Sorry if this has been asked before. I have really sensitive skin and I'm looking for a moisturiser - my hands are dry too. Any recommendations please?? Oh and really small budget!
Thank you

I use clinique dramatically different moisture GEL (different to their moisturising lotion, the gel is oil free). It's not small budget (it lasts for ages though), but I tend to either buy on Ebay or save up my Boots points and get it free.

I know you have mentioned a low budget, but if you go into somewhere like Boots, and visit the big name counters, such as Clinique or Clarins, they do have small samples of moisturiser. You may have to invest a bit of time having a chat, but i'm sure you get some to try.

Yes, they are expensive, but I collect my Boots points and also I use my Piggy Points to get Boots vouchers...I do find that my Clinique moisturiser lasts for ages.

I use Simple. It's very good and only about £3-£4 for a decent sized plastic bottle which lasts ages.

superdrug have good reductions on the simple daily radiance at the moment. also possible to use £1 off coupon to print off from pigsback. the foaming face wash cost me only £1.99. usual price is £4.69. moisturiser was reduced too but cant remember price of it.

Have you tried Diprobase?

You can buy it over the counter at chemists and is used for all manner of dry skin conditions - I use it for very dry skin and it works a treat!

Dirt cheap too! I think 50g is about £2.59 - as far as I remember, I buy the big bottles of it now. But if you get free prescriptions - it might be worth going to the Doc and seeing if he'll prescribe you something.

Another thought is aqueous cream - a basic generic formula that costs about £1 for a huge pot. It isn't very rich and just soaks into the skin, but it would be fine as a base under make-up or overnight.

Nivea!

On offer at home bargains at the moment, £2.99 for a big 300g pot

I have used Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturising Lotion for years and absolutely love it - it's the only moisturiser I can use around my eyes without a bad reaction

For a bit of extra moisture I occasionally use Clinique's Moisture Surge Extra on top of the DDML- this doesn't affect my eyes either (although surprisingly some other Clinique products do!)

:o not quite in the spirit of money saving -I would dearly love to find a cheaper alternative but apart from the price it's a fantastic moisturiser

I'm use Clinique DDML as well. Expensive but lasts for ages.
I also use Boots Sensitive range moisturiser for hands, elbows, well anywhere else really. Usually £3.99 but sometimes it's on offer for £1.99.

I recommend Eucerin products for dry skin. They have a general purpose moisturiser with 5% urea which I use as a night cream amongst other things.

for free samples to try first.

Best of luck! :D

DSIL has very sensitive skin and she is able to use Lidl's moisturiser range if that's any help - might be worth a try?

Thanks everybody for replying - I'm starting with the Aldi one, I've got some 'Lacura' day cream for sensitive skin about £1.89; so far so good. Then I want to try some of the Simple products. I have a look at the Liz Earle website and did the skincare test thing - its very good - so I'll try some of that too.

Oilatum Natural Repair Face Cream is good for sensitive skin and reasonably priced - it's around 7.50 for a 50ml tube and it's good for hands too. It's quite rich so you don't need much.

Try emailing Simple - they're normally very good and send samples for you to try or money off vouchers.

I recommend Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula (with vitamin e) it costs around £2.25 for 250ml in tesco, you only need to use a tiny amount so it lasts quite a long time. The smell is lovely too :)
My partner had terrible dry, flakey skin when i met him which he said he couldnt 'cure' because his skin was sensitive so didnt like most creams available. I got him to try Palmers (id previously been using it to help with scars/stretch marks) and now he swears by it, his skin is lovely!

I use Liz Earle and find it really effective, but am intrigued by the Siana cream at Aldi that all the money savers are raving about. Only £1.89 a jar!

Really old fashioned (my Nana used to use it!) Smith Cremolia from Boots - £1.29.
It's a great moisturiser and an excellent barrier cream IMHO
