So guys - which are the best anti-ageing creams, lotions, capsules etc?? I am thinking about buying my Mum something really nice (Clarins,Elizabeth Arden or such like...) for Mothers Day (grrrr :D - i'll get a fluffy teddy lol...mothers with daughters get a TRULY better deal)

So who has any experience of this and where is good price-wise.....I was looking at some E/Arden capsule thingies and they look classy and expensive (lol i am such a snob!)

Now people, i KNOW this isnt money saving - i could pop down to my local Aldi and grab about 15 jars of their new miracle cream for the price of the "classy" stuff BUT its Mothers Day and even though the thought counts i reckon the thought will count a hell of a lot more if its pricey and glamorous lol!!!!

Cheers in advance guys!

Maybe it would help if we had a rough idea of age and also how much you are able to spend?

There is a list in new Wendy Lewis book 'Plastic makes perfect: the complete cosmetic beauty guide.' For anyone interested this covers cosmetic surgery, every filler you could ever imagine and cosmetics/cosmoceuticals. Its an excellent read for anyone contemplating getting any invasive or non invasive cosmetic procedure.
For face and neck her top choices are
TNS recovery complex
Eliz A Prevage
SkinCeuticals CEFerulic Acid serum
There are others but these are her 3 star ones. All expensive. She then goes down to 2 star all of which I think are equally expensive but then has one at one star whch is Olay Regeneris Daily Regenerating Serum

She has eye creams too - top picks
DDF biomolecular firming eye serum
Estee Lauder Advanced Night repair eye recovery complex
revision Skincare temine eye complex

I use Prevage. The problem is with any cream one tube isnt much use its only continued use over tme thats meaningful..so you have to continue to spend money!

Hand and body cream wise Wendy Lewis' top pick is SkinMedica ceratopic replenishing lotion

I can't post more as there are obvious copyright implications

Have a look in Boots first as they have a lot of good anti-aging offers now. Olay and Roc are two products that offer "freebies" if you spend over a set amount.

Can't recommend a particular brand or product but thought I'd mention HQhair.com outletstore. They often have lots of lovely skin/hair/body care bargains. Just had a quick look and they've got some decleor skincare sets for about £25 at the moment, and don't forget to go through quidco/pigsback for cashback!

If it's Elizabeth Arden you're after there's always loads of gift sets in my local TK Maxx

Hi there

Without question, the best anti ageing range in my opinion is The Body Shop 'Wise Woman' range!
They do a day cream which is £18, night cream at £20, serum at £22, cleanser and toner at £10 each, eye cream £15 and also a luxury mask which i think is £12.
Used all together as a complete daily skin care regime you get amazing all round results. Last summer I bought the day cream, night cream, serum and eye cream for my mums birthday and she is now hooked on it!! She loves it and cant believe the results!
Immediate results happen with the brilliant radiance that the serum and day cream provide. I would advise starting with one or both of those if you dont want to buy the whole range.

It's on parr (quality and results wise) with Lancomes Absolute range which is priced from £80 upwards.
I feel its a much better product than anything expensive on the market as its made with many natural, fair trade ingredients, the results were incredible and an added extra is they all smell gorgeous and come in lovely glam packaging!

Sorry to spoil the party but I would have a look at the common sense and great products at reasonable prices at Paula Begoun's website she will blow away a few Anti Ageing Myths and provides sensible reviews whilst telling you what works .
Her review of the much hyped and useless Boots No7 serum is delightfull. www.cosmeticscop.com (http://www.cosmeticscop.com)

Prevage is expensive nonsense! she has done a review of it and many others.

I cant find the no7 reveiw anywhere on that website???!!! Also, should we not be a bit dubious about a person who has a website which pretty much slates every other product on the current beauty market and then says "buy mine instead".....? Or i am not getting the "brilliance" of her site....????

You are totaly wrong Begoun will give cosmetics with excellent formulations good reviews wether you buy here skincare or not.

She "slates" every "other" product if they are useless (most of them are expensively useless! as well as "classy and glamorous")

One of the many cleansers she champions is Cetaphil cheap and about to be launched here she is also a fan of using olive oil on your skin and ,baking soda as a scrub!.

Like me she has worked in the industry for over 30 years and tells it like it is.

If you check the ingredient dictionary on her site you can see what ingredients have scientific backing behind them as to effectiveness in products you use and what is pure rubbish.

BTW the new Aldi day and night cream is excellent in formulation.

Your Boots NO7 review is here enjoy!.
