Has anyone found any other Try Me Free products in shops? So far I have found !:D :D

Ainsley Harriott Tea Bags ( Tesco ) ends 30.04.2004

Candia long life milk ( Sainsburys )

Sunnybisk like weetabix ( Tesco ) ends 31.05.2004

Nestle Sveltesse Yogurt !ends 30.09.2004

Ski Dessert Recipes !ends 31.01.2004

Flash Orange Degreaser ends 30.05.2004

Thatchers Cider ( Tesco ) ends 30.06.2004

Kaliber Alcohol Free Lager money back if you DON'T like it ends 15.09.2004

Please remember with all these you need a till receipt to claim, so if buying more than one at the same time get till receipts for each.

Also, it might seem obvious but these are all one application per household, so I ask and use friends/neighbours/relations addresses (who don't want to claim themselves ) and get several of each item free.
Enjoy ;D

The application I think has to be on the official application form i.e the outer packaging of special packs.
You need to say in 15 words or over why you didn't like the taste and send it together with your till receipt to

Kaliber Money Back Taste Offer

PO Box 77
Aylesbury

A possible answer to the flat 999 problem ....
give your house a formal sounding name.
Something relatively meaningless and trivial
"Martin House" ?? ;D

You could then have a substantial number of flats at that address (think BIG, think high-rise) OR a substantial number of company names with a large number of employees 8)

How about:
Joe Bloggs, Dept. Quality Control, MS Experts, Martin House, Upmy St., Upsidetown, Deadfordshire...

Most of the refunds are cheques so you have to use your own name to be able to cash them. I find using friend and relatives best, most don't bother with 'try me free' or free samples so are quite happy for me to use their names and addresses. They give me the cash and put the cheques into their accounts. I think they find me amusing or sad

Smartasss
22-01-2004, 2:10 PM
You could use your own name, together with your friends addresses, then when the letter arrives (addressed to you), they'll know its just another of silverladys sad wheezes, and redirect the envelope to you.

silverlady
22-01-2004, 4:23 PM
I agree that would be easier, but I wonder how many people do claim their money back? Would the same name turning up say 10 times be noticed? I wonder.
Also I get a cuppa tea or coffee and a chat when I visit to collect ;D

Regarding using your own name...

If you have a name that has spelling variants or shortenings then use those. I have a very unusual surname (in 't Veld-Brown) and my first name is Anthony so I have a multitude of options!

Many British institutions' databases cannot handle my surname so I get a varity of spellings (Veld-Brown, Brown, inni Velo Brown???) along with the more normal variants of Anthony (Antony, Tony, Toni etc) and I have never had a problem with paying the cheques into my account.

As previously stated by Mike, you could combine these with different flat numbers, but it depends on how much of a brass neck you have.

Ecover biological washing powder 30 washes £3.93 in Tescos 'your money back if you don't love this ecover product' valid until 31 March one application per household, till receipt required.

24-01-2004, 5:12 PM
Also, the Batchelors savoury rice are in Safeway too.

You have to send an sae to claim the money back on the rice, it's not a freepost address, so it takes two stamps to claim the money back and they only refund one. So it's not the try-for-free it claims on the packaging, but you only find this out after you've brought the product.

And you definitely need to get the try-for-free Solo salt to go with it, because it's tasteless stuff.

I looked for the Flash orange degreaser, and i found the last one with a special 'Try me for Free' label.

You DO NOT have to send a coupon/barcode for this, only the receipt & your name & address, so if you can't find a special pack, here is the address...

Flash Try me Free Offer, Dept 1112, FREEPOST ANG 8107, Diss, Norfolk, IP98 3SP

Just to make sure you have the right one... the product is '500ml Flash Ultimate Orange Spray' (called 'Flash Degreaser' on the front label, barcode 5413149095830).

Happy hunting!

ps Has anyone else tried the Ainsley Harriott tea-bags... I think that you need at least 2 bags to make a decent cuppa!

Swedish Glace Dairy free ice cream.

Ooh, ta LM. Pity I missed it when I was in there today - will have to look next time.

I spotted one in Tesco earlier too. I think it was Honey Nut Shredded Wheat but check for yourselves - whichever cereal it was, it says on the front of the packet something like "moreish or we'll give you your money back". If you try it and don't like it you have to send the form back saying why you didn't like it and I think it said they'll refund the price and the cost of a 2nd class stamp.

I didn't buy one myself as my kitchen's overflowing with cereals at the moment thanks to the Eat for £1 offer so I'm just trying to remember the details off-hand.

I also had a problem with Nestle.

Cactus - if you're looking in Safeway have a good look round the whole fruit juices and waters aisle. I couldn't find it either when I first looked because I was looking where the fruit juice cartons were. It was actually at the other end of the aisle near the bottles of flavoured water. :)

??? ??? ???
Sorry if this is daft. I have been following this thread with great interest. Yesterday I went off to do my shopping in Tescos, determined to find the 'Try me free' items.
I searched and searched but could not find ANY!! I had no baby with me and was able to take the time to look really really carefully. I was there for nearly 2 hours!!!!
Where are these? How do I find them? Are they clearly labelled?

Thanks for any help.

shelly
01-03-2004, 7:14 PM
Of course it's not a daft question! They can be any product, and any where in the shop. The product might not necessarily say "try me free" in large letters though,it could either have a ticket stuck to it or a bottle could have a label round its neck.If you read it it will say something like,"Ty me free, just send off your till receipt with this label and get your money back".I have never done it myself, bit know alot of ppl who do it all time.Don't forget that if you buy a few in one shopping trip you need to pay for those items individually because you need to send the till receipt off and you may not get it back.

Hi JanetRose
I find it helps me if I write down a list of Try Me Free items others have found. Then as I do my shopping I watch out for them.
Sometimes I think the offers are only in specific stores ie Tesco,Sainsburys or Asda.
Where I live the offers always seem to be a week or two after the larger towns or cities.
Just keep looking, I'm sure you'll find them. Sad I know, but after a while it becomes second nature to scan the shelves looking for offers.
Good luck, :)

Be aware that the Ainsley Tea bag offer does in fact say you must give a reason of MORE than a certain number of words. If you don't meet this requirement they send your paperwork back and you have to resubmit! I know it happened to me. Normally expect such things to be 5 words or less or similar so read the detail carefully!

I sent my receipt away for Flash Orange Degreaser months ago and I have received nothing. I called the customer care number on the Flash bottle last week and they put me through to the company who were dealing with the cashback. the woman checked my address details and said they had not received anything and there was nothing she could do. I complained that I didnt have another receipt to send and she wasnt very helpful Eventually she said I could write in amd gave me an address. I havent bothered as it means another stamp and I still may not get anything under their terms and conditions.

Has anyone else received a letter from MKM Marketing & Promotions about the Big Tom TMF offer?

I've just read on another forum that theres a TMF on Youngs Frozen Cod (packs of 4 large fillets). !Apparently theres a coupon on the pack that you have to send with your receipt and you'll be refunded up to £3.89.

You have to look out for the "money back guarantee - taste challenge packs" in the freezer section. !

:)

Just seen them in Tesco this evening and the offer expiry date on the packet was 30 March 2005

Gillette Venus Razor for Women in Boots

Saw this today, if you buy Venus razor you also get a Satin Care shave gel for free (worth about £2.99 I think) They still had the TMF promotion pack razor. :D

i spotted one of these today & to get the refund you have to send back the razor handle...so its def a try me rather than keep me offer as it were.

Is this offer still around? I was looking at the venus razor in my local Boots yesterday and saw no mention of free shave gel.

Didn't bother buying it in the end because you have to send the handle back. Although I suppose you could leave it right up until the deadline of the offer and send it back when it had started to get a bit manky!

I was in Boots and they have taken the signs down, so I am not sure the free shave gel will be going thru, I did see the razor handles with the try me free offer in Asda though.

I got my cheque thru for the razor handle just the other day, great freebie!

Its a big paper jacket, about 1/2 the size of the pack, its not on the razors but it is on the handles with 2 razors in it, like this:

On the back of Surf sunshine washing powder

'We guarantee to remove the 99 stains listed on this pack but if you are not happy you can get your money back by calling the Surf Careline.

You have to give them the code off the box, tell them where you purchased it and what stain it didn't remove.
No receipt needed.

Make sure you buy a large box!

Did you see the thread on grab it while you can.
Surf is on offer at Co-op this week for £1.49 for 3.3kg
box.
So buy 4 boxes and then phone up and complain and with any luck you will get the full retail price back of the 4 boxes which is £3.59 each.
We need to come up with a stain that is not listed, and if we all use the same stain they will definately think it doesnt remove it.
Any ideas?

TAKE CARE when applying for this TMF.
When you fill in the form attached to the neck of the bottle it appears they just want name address and email address, but if you read the terms and conditions 5 it says "Your claim must include your name and address, SIGNATURE,and proof of purchase"
Point 7 of the terms and conditions says "Incomplete applications will not be processed"
So don't forget a signature.

Hi David
Sorry you did not find all the TMF offers you were looking for.
I find that although the offer is valid sometimes for several weeks or even months the promotional packs are only in the shops for a very short space of time.
Also, I find the larger busy stores seem to have the promotional packs before smaller quieter stores.
As you can see from my original post I found Sunnybisk etc back in January.
I just watch out for the offers and buy as soon as I see them. Not forgetting to get separate till receipts for each offer.
Good luck

I added the word 'stains'. Which I thought summed my opinion of their pettiness towards their customer service.

The lesson is to follow the terms and conditions to the word. 'Stains' in this example.

Found these today, and the TMF was also on the green beans. It's a pity they don't have a freepost address because they only refund the sae cost. This may sound picky, but the product only cost 49p and it costs 20p to apply!

Found by someone on another forum.

There's a Swiss Delice chocolate bar in the sweet section at Tesco with a Try Me Free sticker on.

You have to give your opinion about the chocolate on a piece of paper (minimum of 15 words). Send it with your till receipt with the choc bar circled to the address on the back of the sticker. The cheque will cover the stamp and the pack price and will be sent within 28 days.

:)

Sveltesse was a case of sending your receipt to an address on the box - it took ages but I did eventually get my money back! (This could have changed now of course).

Kronenborg 1664 Premier Cru premium lager 500ml bottle found in Asda today at £1.99.

It wasn't until I got it home though that I realised this one is not exactly a try me free. You send in till receipt, neck label !and name and address and you don't get your money back instead you get a voucher for another bottle? Still worth a try I suppose.

You also get entered in a draw for a holiday in Paris.
And the good news is, there is no limit on the number of times you can claim!

I noticed in the T&Cs on the paper collar that there was no mention of a limit of one per household, or even per individual. So I phoned the promoter, Scottish Courage (0131 528 1000) today and they confirmed that you can claim the voucher and enter the competition as many times as you like. (Or as many times as you can find a bottle with the promotional collar, as you do need this with your receipt.)

And it can be Try Me Free, if you take your voucher to Asda or another store that accepts vouchers without you having to buy the product.

Hoorah!

Having said that, I haven't tried mine yet. I might hate it. Still, a free beer is a free beer, (less the cost of your stamp, of course).

Well, I still haven't received my refund for the Eisberg Non Alcoholic Chardonnay. If it was over not signing it (it certainly wasn't stated clearly) then I don't understand them from a PR point of view. Even if I had of liked the stuff, I certainly wouldn't buy it again now as they won't honour their offers! >:(

(Tia Maria x Baileys sort of stuff in the blue bottle.)

Small box with 2 x miniatures of Tia Lusso, for 99p - ALSO CONTAINING a voucher for £1.00 off a full sized bottle of same.

Found these in Asda, Croydon (Beddington really). Grabbed all I could see, (25 in all), but sadly they haven't re-stocked. They must only have had a limited supply, or perhaps I caught the tail end of the offer.

Spent half the vouchers in Asda already, will spend the rest soon. Result - 50 free miniatures of Tia Lusso to give at Christmas, drink, pass around, etc. (Oh, plus a profit of 25p!) 8)

Vouchers expire on 31/08/04 - if you can find any more of them, that is.
I've put this in the Grab it While you Can section, because it is likely to disappear very quickly - if it hasn't already gone.

1001 No Vac carpet freshener - expires 31.12.04

I'm sure I saw this on this thread, but I now can't find it, and couldn't find it using the Search facility either. Has someone removed it?

It is certainly in my Asda, with a sticky label on the cap, which peels off easily and opens out into the claim form and offer details. You need to provide a till receipt, and complete the form with a statement about why you were satisfied or dissatisfied with No Vac. (Note: it doesn't say you can only claim if you don't like it. They just want to know what you thought.)

The instructions say you need to enclose a 15 word statement. (15 words exactly?!) But when you turn over the form, there is a space for you to write your reasons, and it says,

"Please state why you were satisfied or dissatisfied with 1001 No Vac in no more than 15 words."

ALSO

1001 Spot Shot
"Dissolves Stains Instantly! Without Scrubbing"

Same offer details as the No Vac. Also in Asda.

Nope, don't see anything difficult about that. Enclose packaging, (to make sure you didn't take it back for a refund - as if!) till receipt, (standard), and application form. No problem. Cat or dog, not both, expected. Reasonable length of offer - good, one per household, (standard, - but we all have relatives, or at least long-suffering friends, right?) ;)

Thanks Vanoonoo, Good one!

Just been to the Purina website. !The application form for the TMF offer isn't available yet, so hold onto your purchases and till receipts, UNTIL you have been able to download the form and read it through, just in case you feel you can't meet the criteria for saying you're not satisfied. !(Tiddles, Rover, you'll just have to wait!)

It looks like you may have to do a certain amount of writing to justify your dissatisfaction with the product. !

[Sorry, my cat isn't healthier after eating your food, etc.
(i) She was in perfect health with glossy coat and a cold wet nose already,
(ii)My cat was sick and had diarrhea, etc.]

But we're all intelligent, creative people, aren't we? Follow the instructions to the letter and you'll be OK.

NB: A thought. !They may have taken steps to prevent you from downloading more than one form, (photocopied forms will not be accepted). !

If you think you may need to download more than one application form, for your friend to use, for example, then you may need to get that friend to register using their own name and address on a different computer. !(Or do it for them using a different PC, at work, for instance.) !Or you may be successful if you delete your cookies and re-register using your friend's details. !

They will probably use the site registration details to approve the applications when they come in, or you may find the forms are downloaded already containing your individual details given in the registration process. !It's quite a high-value offer, after all.

I wondered about the wording, but it didn't ask you to include a "self addressed envelope" but a "stamped addressed envelope" (as the address to post to is not a FREEPOST one). Plus it asks you to write your name and address on a piece of paper and enclose it. Why would they need to do that if you've enclosed a self addressed envelope? ??? ???

Does anyone know if you have to send the try me free label with the Mr Muscle Multitask cleaner back to get your refund? I bought a bottle today, but it didn't have a TMF sticker on. ???

If not, and all I have to do is write 15 words about the product, then does anyone have the address I should send my receipt to? Cheers

Sorry, you need to fill in the form attached to the bottle for the multitask TMF. :-/

While I'm on the subject, I picked up the Moo milk TMF in Safeways yesterday. You don't need a special pack for this offer but you do have to apply for your money back within 14 days of your purchase.

They also had the Cravendale moneyback offer. You need to send the promo label back for this one.

Be careful when buying multiple TMF's. Most will only allow one application per household.

Well my first venture into Try me free was a total failure. Finally found the Nestle chocolate bars. I bought a few small ones which are fine but forgot you needed a receipt for the large ones, so: 3x Double Cream, 5x Double Chocolate & 5x Double Berry, all on the same receipt. Thought I was really clever getting relations to let me use their address! Serves me right for being greedy but I had planned to share it with them. :-[

Woo Hoo, first time I've found one that's not already on! ;D ;D ;D

Intuition Simply Lathers ladies razor. I found it in Boots at half price but it came up on the receipt at full price with the saving at the end of the receipt. Was £6.25, now £3.15. (And triple points.)

You need to wait for 4 weeks before sending it off though. Just send the handle.

I know it's shocking!

To be honest I'm still going to send it with the receipt that shows I only just bought them.

And for the choccie, try post offices! ;)

Found today in Safeway - Quorn mince (frozen) TMF.

You need to send token from packet, answer some questions and send receipt for refund. This has to be sent WITHIN 14 DAYS OF PURCHASE! :o

Somebody else mentioned TMF Quorn sausages with the same conditions on a different thread but haven't spotted these yet.

They did have the Berry and the Double Choc Nestle bars in Safeway today. Yum. ;D

Will have a look out for that razor offer when I'm in Boots this afternoon. MY local one's only a small one so doubt they will have it. Got my money-back from the Venus offer this morning so need a new razor! ;)

Had to buy a second bottle of the 1001 Spot shot - I'll use the in-lawas addy to get my money back again;D ;D ;D

Have to say, I would pay for this without the TMF as it is absolutely brilliant. My teenage daughter had got foundation and eyeliner all over her carpet and it had been there for months. She went away yesterday and I took the opportunity to have a good clear out.

Half a can of 1001 Spot shot later and her carpet was as good as new - thoroughly recommend it! :D :D :D :D
