DON’T USE 18866 TO CALL SKY. Those using call18866 (see cheapest home phone calls (http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/viewnews.cgi?newsid1095003038,99872,)) shouldn’t use it to call Sky’s customer service centre. The way it works means Sky can see it as an overseas number, and I’ve heard reports of them cutting people off assuming they’re wrongly using it frm abroad. (discuss sky/call18866 problem)

Can't you just dial 141188660...?

That could explain the problem I had. Last month I wanted to re subscribed just for the one month and after about 16 minutes I was cut off, this happened 4 times. Eventually I used the switchboard number listed on http://www.saynotot0870.com and they transferred me and got through OK.

Glad I was using 18866 though otherwise those 4 calls would have cost over £6 >:(

just now tried the switchboard and she would not put me through, only gave me the number of customer services. i asked if she could put me through, but she said she was not able to, so i said you could but you will not is what u mean. but she insisted that they was no way of doing it from where she was?

Well it worked for me. I just explained that I kept getting cut off after holding for 16 mins when I dialled the other (0870) number. Infact I called back a second time to the switchboard and she put me through both times because the first time I chose the wrong option number on the menu. Give it another try you might get someone more helpfull the next time.
