Hi there
I'm back with ww online, I tried it last year and successfully lost over a stone but you do have to try to sign on every day or at least write everything down to track it online.
I like doing in online as I wasnt comfortable going to a meeting, plus it was £5 per week at the meeting and online it's only £9.95, plus if you sign up through quidco you get cashback and they have ditched their sign up fee at the moment to.
I would be more than willing to give you pointers and stuff about the points in foods if you would like. Oh and if you search for ww points, there is a post about how to manually work out the point values in foods.

thanks cate
i have been meaning to try it, but couldn't justify the expense. But if it significantly improves my health/confidence etc....(i need to lose approx 4 stone) then it will probably be the best money i have ever spent!?
no prob signing in every day...I reckon i might give it a go maybe for 3 months?
is it harder to do if u don't want to eat the WW ready meals? Trying to cook from scratch as its cheaper.
2008 will be the year i do it!!

I went to WW a couple of years ago and lost a stone. I made a spreadsheet that I filled in with the values, so it added up what I had daily, and what I could carry over for the weekend. That really helped me, and I've used it since without formally joining up again. I also made a graph from it, so I could see my progress. If anyone would like the template, I'm happy to email it. :)
I also found the formula for working out points and put that into Excel too. It is: (calories per portion x 0.014285) + (saturated fat per portion x 0.25). It's reeally useful if you're cooking your own meals/recipes, rather than buying theirs.
I think once you've paid for the first week, and got your book to follow, and once you've got into the habit of things, if you've got the motivation and willpower then you probably don't need to join up online. :)

I did WW online about 5 years ago, lost 2.5st in around 4 months. The downside is that you do have to log on every day - as mentioned above - but after a while you do become more used to tallying up the points in your head. As far as I'm aware the system hasn't changed and you can sometimes get earlier editions of the shopping guide/eating out guide on eBay for not much money.
If you can motivate yourself, it's the best way to lose weight (IMO). I kept the weight off for a year before falling pregnant with DD. Even now I'm only 1.5st heavier than I was at my lightest. I'm debating whether to rejoin to lose this weight...I think it's free registration at class at the moment, so might pop along there.
Also, if you don't want to join, you can still become a community member and chat on their forums - you can get loads of tips from there but be aware that the boards aren't moderated and you often get trolls.
Hope that helps
D.
Edit: I've just been to their site and they're offering a week's free trial of the online system. Might be worth a look!

i joined in the end, but through ebay i bought a journal to write down everything that i eat, my weight, points used etc. it just seems a hassle to sign in every day.
